MLB Prop Bets: MLB Props for Today

Alec Bohm to Record an RBI (+160)

Astros vs. Phillies, 1:06 p.m. ET

The Philadelphia Phillies‘ offense could have a big day against Cristian Javier, and that puts me on this Alec Bohm prop bet in one of today’s early games.

Javier is having a rough year overall (4.49 SIERA) but is getting especially rocked by righty bats, with the Houston Astros‘ pitcher allowing a .382 wOBA and 2.39 homers per nine in righty-righty matchups.

Bohm will likely hit fifth in the lineup for Philly, which is a pretty great spot for RBI chances. The problem, of course, is that Bohm has mostly struggled this year. But his .322 expected wOBA looks better than his .307 actual wOBA, and he may be heating up as he’s got a .420 wOBA over his last 24 plate appearances. He’s also tallied 17 RBI over his past 20 games.

After Javier leaves the game, Bohm will face a Houston bullpen that sits 11th-worst in xFIP for the season.

Jacob deGrom Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-122)

Rangers vs. Mariners, 4:11 p.m. ET

Jacob deGrom still has some of the best stuff in the game, and he draws a lovely matchup today against the Seattle Mariners at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park.

Seattle’s offense struggles at home as they own the fourth-highest home K rate (24.0%) with the third-worst home wOBA (.301).

deGrom can take advantage. He’s produced a 29.9% strikeout rate and 16.2% swinging-strike rate this season. He’s notched at least seven punchouts in three of his past four starts, and while he hasn’t been as good on the road this year as he’s been at home, this is the best road venue he can ask for.

Colson Montgomery to Record an RBI (+175)

Pirates vs. White Sox, 7:41 p.m. ET

Jared Jones is a solid pitcher, but he’s right-handed. That makes Colson Montgomery an appealing bet in the prop market.

Montgomery has 31 long-balls this year and owns a 53.6% fly-ball rate against RHPs. He’s been an RBI machine of late, knocking in seven runs over his last eight games.

Jones has surrendered a .333 wOBA to lefty hitters this season, and he’s been much worse on the road (.342 wOBA allowed) than at home (.287). He has a 5.56 ERA over his past five starts, too, so he’s not in great form.

With Montgomery likely to hit fifth or sixth today, I’m intrigued by his RBI prop at this number.
