NHL Player Prop Bets to Target for Monday 5/20/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

J.T. Miller Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+112)

Game 7 between the Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks is primed for a thriller tonight.

The Canucks are home underdogs (+136) and will be missing one of their best players, Brock Boeser. He leads the team these playoffs in goals (7), tied in points (12), and has the second-most shots on goal (27), making this a rather large loss for their offense.

It's a do-or-die game, so it brings me to J.T. Miller, the Canucks center on the top forward line and the first power-play unit. Miller leads the team with 28 shots on goal and now with Boeser off his line, Miller can be the primary shot taker.

Arturs Silovs Over 25.5 Saves (-114)

The Oilers have dominated the shot volume in this series and that should continue in a win-or-go-home game.

Arturs Silovs, the Canucks goalie, has been under siege this entire series since the Oilers have dominated the offensive pressure.

Through six games, the Oilers have 390 Total Shot Attempts to the Canucks at 308, with shots on goal 174-132. This has put Silovs in a spot to rack up the saves early and often, which is what we should expect with Edmonton's offense led by Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

The Oilers should keep the pressure up and force Silovs to make plenty of saves in an elimination game.
