The 2026-27 college basketball season has arrived!

The college basketball season gives us plentiful betting options with so many teams in action each day, and that’s certainly true today with the 24-hour marathon taking place.

Fortunately, we have abundant tools available that can aid our chances of finding good betting value. Bart Torvik and KenPom are excellent sources that give insights into team-level efficiency, and Sports Reference provides a wide range of useful team stats, as well.

Let's check out FanDuel Sportsbook's college basketball odds and select some of the best bets of the day.

Monday’s Best College Basketball Predictions, Picks for Tonight

Miami (OH) Moneyline (-113)

Miami (OH) at James Madison — 7:00 p.m. ET

I'm taking the Miami (OH) RedHawks in what’s expected to be a tight battle against the James Madison Dukes.

Miami is coming off an incredible 32-2 season that included an 18-0 record in MAC play. The RedHawks have been picked to finish atop the MAC again while James Madison went just 18-15 last season and finished 9-9 in Sun Belt play.

The biggest advantage for Miami is continuity. James Madison returns only about 11% of its scoring from last season while Miami brings back roughly 47%. That's a major difference for two teams playing their first regular-season game, and it makes Miami particularly appealing.

Vermont Moneyline (-110)

Vermont at Iona — 7:00 p.m. ET

Moneyline

Vermont

In a game that is listed as a pick’em, I’m backing the Vermont Catamounts against the Iona Gaels.

Vermont went 22-12 last season and was picked as the preseason favorite in the America East, receiving seven first-place votes. The Catamounts also bring back preseason All-America East forward Gus Yalden, who averaged 16.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season.

Iona is coming off an 18-14 season, although the Gaels were excellent at defending the perimeter, allowing opponents to shoot just 30.6% from three last season.

But KenPom has Vermont ranked 187th while Iona is 220th.

Vermont has also won its last five season openers and went 3-0 during its exhibition schedule. I like the Catamounts' moneyline odds at this number.

Ohio State +3.5 (-110)

Ohio State vs. BYU — 9:00 p.m. ET

Spread

Ohio State
Nov 3 2:00am UTCMore odds in Sportsbook

The final play is Ohio State +3.5 against No. 25 BYU. FanDuel has the Buckeyes catching 3.5 points at -110 in a game being played at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

BYU deserves plenty of respect after making the NCAA Tournament last season and entering this season ranked No. 25. However, Ohio State has enough perimeter talent to make this a competitive game, and getting more than a possession gives us some room for error.

KenPom is on the Buckeyes’ side here, slotting OSU 18th and BYU 33rd. I fall in line there and am backing the Buckeyes to cover +3.5.
