NHL Prop Bets

Jack Hughes To Record 1+ Powerplay Points (+135)

With only one NHL game on tonight's slate, let's take a look at two quick props between the New Jersey Devils and the Buffalo Sabres.

The Devils come in with a 3.37 implied goal total, which is just a touch higher than the Sabres at 3.13. That's a good indication we should see some scoring tonight, and we want the props to reflect that.

We'll turn to Jack Hughes to record 1+ power-play points tonight -- something he's been known to do. Hughes leads the Devils with 9 power-play goals and 22 power-play assists, which account for 44% of his total points (71) this season.

The Sabres' penalty kill clocks in at 78.8%, which is the 13th-worst in the league and nothing we really need to worry about too much. On the other side, the Devils' power-play unit is the 11th-best (22.6%) in the league, powered by Hughes and his brother on defense, Luke Hughes.

Rasmus Dahlin Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-102)

Next, let's turn to over 2.5 shots for Rasmus Dahlin.

The future captain of the Sabres is a powerful player on the blue line, racking up 6 points, 25 shots on goal, and 16 blocked shots in his last 10 games.

He simply does it all for the Sabres, who are seeing the Eastern Conference Wild Card hopes dwindle by the day. If the Sabres are going to make a late-season push for the last spot, they need to match the offense from the Devils.

Over the last two weeks, the Devils have allowed 59.91 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the 13th-worst in the league.

Dahlin has at least two shots in 7 of his last 10 games and has gone over this mark in four of those games. They need a higher level of production from Dahlin if they are going to stay competitive in this game.
