George Klassen Over 15.5 Outs Recorded (+108)

Guardians vs. Angels, 9:39 p.m. ET

I think the market is a little low on George Klassen today. While I nearly wrote up the over on his K prop, I’m opting for the over on his outs prop instead.

Over his last two starts, Klassen has pieced together outings of seven and six innings, giving up two total earned runs in that time. He’s also gotten up to 87 and 88 pitches in those starts, which are his two highest MLB pitch counts of the season.

The matchup with the Cleveland Guardians is a nice one. Cleveland is 20th in wOBA over the last 30 days (.302), and they’re really hard to strike out (18.2% K rate over the last 30 days), which could end up helping us as it could lead to quicker outs.

With Klassen pitching well of late and the Guards not offering much firepower at the plate, I like the Los Angeles Angels‘ RHP to go over 15.5 outs recorded.

Home Run Prediction: Michael Busch (+540)

Cubs at Diamondbacks, 9:41 p.m. ET

Merrill Kelly is getting the ball for the Arizona Diamondbacks, and that has me interested in the Chicago Cubs. Ultimately, I’m into these long odds on Michael Busch to go deep.

A year ago, Busch popped 34 long-balls, 30 of which came against righties. While his power numbers have taken a step back this campaign, Busch still has a 41.3% fly-ball rate versus LHPs. He’s also got five dongs in the second half.

Kelly is posting some ugly numbers this year, including a 5.27 SIERA and 14.9% strikeout rate. Lefty bats have a .387 wOBA and 2.15 homers per nine against him. He’s allowed 12 earned runs and three bombs over his last two starts, so this is a lovely matchup for Busch.

Philadelphia Phillies at Seattle Mariners NRFI (-162)

Starting Pitchers: Zack Wheeler vs. Logan Gilbert

There may not be a better combination of starting pitchers on Monday than Zack Wheeler and Logan Gilbert. Wheeler has produced a 2.92 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 120.1 innings this season while recording 144 strikeouts. Even after a couple of less dominant outings recently, his overall body of work remains excellent.

Gilbert has been similarly impressive for the Seattle Mariners. He owns a 3.35 ERA and 1.01 WHIP through 150.1 innings, and his 157 strikeouts translate to a 26.4% strikeout rate. He has also issued just 37 walks to 594 batters faced, giving him an excellent 6.2% walk rate.

The venue doesn't hurt, either. T-Mobile Park is generally one of the more favorable places for pitchers, and neither Wheeler nor Gilbert is particularly prone to giving away free baserunners.

With two high-end right-handers on the mound, I like the chances of this game remaining scoreless through one.
