Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing.

Please note that betting lines and numberFire's game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

Eduardo Rodriguez Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-104)

Eduardo Rodriguez has been racking up the strikeouts and has a good matchup tonight.

On the season, Rodriguez has a 24.4% strikeout rate and 10.8% swinging-strike rate, but has been pushing past that in recent outings. Over his last five starts, Rodriguez has posted a 25.0% strikeout rate or higher three times, with one outing being up at 30%.

For his swinging-strike rate, he's been at 11.7% or higher in three of those five outings, with one start being up at 15.0%. This has allowed him to hit this 5.5 prop in each of those three outings.

Long story short, Rodriguez seems to be peaking to close out the season.

Tonight, he'll be up against the New York Yankees, who come in with a 24.6% strikeout rate versus left-handed pitchers with their current active roster, which is the sixth-worst in the league.

This sets up to be another matchup where Rodriguez can pile up the strikeouts and hit over 5.5.

Sean Murphy To Record an RBI (+130)

The Atlanta Braves have a massive 6.68 implied run total tonight and are primed to get their offense going.

The Braves have hit a small dip on this three-game losing streak and tonight seems like a classic 'get right' spot. They have a super soft matchup against Adam Wainwright, who simply doesn't have it on the mound this season.

Wainwright comes in allowing a .403 wOBA, .556 SLG, 5.18 xFIP, 2.45 HR/9, .368 BABIP, and 36.7% fly-ball rate to right-handed hitters this season. That is a rough set of numbers to see but puts several Braves' hitters in a great spot.

Sean Murphy is not only a great hitter but he has viable odds tonight for an RBI. On the year, Murphy comes in with a 131 wRC+, .368 wOBA, .240 ISO, .287 BABIP, 37.9% fly-ball rate, and 37.9% hard-contact rate versus right-handed pitchers this season.

Love everything about this matchup for Murphy and the Braves tonight.
