Verdict

Tricky way to start Day 2 of the Carnival with only one runner in the field having been to the races to date. TOROTENA (3) has looked sharp in two jumpout wins this campaign ahead of the debut and appears primed for a big performance at his first trip to the races. Does have a wide gate to overcome but the small field will help offset that and id show a nice turn of foot in the latest trial, so might be able to round them up. GWEN'S GIRL (5) is another who has put together impressive back-to-back trial performance in preparation for this and should be prominent from the inside alley. RED FALCON (1) looked good in his latest Flemington jumpout and from a stable that must be respected, especially in the case of any market support. WICKED STORM (9) ran second to Torotena in a jumpout two back and looks to have been well-educated for the debut, likewise SUCCAFORYOU (8) who has been placed in four jumpouts.
