JIMMY NAILS (3) raced on the speed then dug deep when asked but missed the placings in a blanket finish over this distance behind Amalgamation last start. Weights and measures say there won't be much in it again. Just gets the nod in an even contest. EASTOWIN (11) has been out of form since a good win at Murwillumbah over 7 ¾f on 28 August. Gives the impression he needs this longer trip now so might be worth one more chance. AMALGAMATION (2) just prevailed in a similar race at the Sunshine Coast recently, defeating some of today's key rivals in the process. Not badly in at the weights and can win again without surprising. LIKEABEEL (1) got too far back and was never a factor in the Amalgamation race last time. Races well here and can improve sharply. QUICK BUCK (4) has never raced over this distance but has a 100% top-three strike rate at Grafton. Genuine stayer who must be included.
