Georgia vs. Florida Prediction: Picks, Props and Best Bets (Oct. 31)

Florida vs Georgia Picks in Summary

  • Georgia -12.5 (-110)
  • Gunner Stockton Under 238.5 Passing Yards (-114)

The Florida-Georgia rivalry has a different setting this season, with the SEC foes meeting in Atlanta rather than Jacksonville, but there is still plenty at stake when the two ranked teams clash on Saturday.

Georgia enters as a sizable favorite while Florida is looking to build on its upset victory over Texas.

Using the college football odds at FanDuel Sportsbook as a guide, here are the best bets for this rivalry game.

Georgia vs Florida Picks and Prediction

The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off their first loss of the season, but this looks like an appealing bounce-back spot.

Georgia has been dominant on both sides of the ball for much of the campaign, averaging 43.0 points and 469.9 total yards per game while surrendering only 15.9 points and 276.4 yards per contest. The Bulldogs have been especially efficient offensively, averaging 7.7 yards per play and converting 53.9% of their third downs.

The Florida Gators have been productive offensively, but their defense has been much less convincing. Florida is allowing 375.7 yards and 28.3 points per game, including 255.0 passing yards per contest.

Georgia has also gone 5-2 against the spread this season, including a 4-2 ATS mark when favored by at least 11.5 points. With the Bulldogs coming off a loss and getting this game in their backyard, I’m backing UGA to cover.

Gunner Stockton Under 238.5 Passing Yards (-114)

Gunner Stockton - Passing Yds

Gunner Stockton Under

Gunner Stockton has been efficient for Georgia this season, but this passing-yardage line asks him to produce above his normal level.

Stockton is averaging 224.3 passing yards per game through seven contests, and he has finished below 238.5 yards four times. His lower-output games include 147 yards against Arkansas and 171 against Oklahoma while Georgia has generally been comfortable leaning on a balanced offense rather than asking Stockton to carry too much through the air.

Florida can also create some problems for opposing quarterbacks. The Gators are averaging 3.1 sacks per game. That matchup could encourage the Bulldogs to continue leaning on their ground game and quick passing attack rather than consistently pushing the ball downfield.

With Georgia favored by double digits, there is also a realistic chance the Bulldogs can play from ahead and reduce their passing volume in the second half. Stockton has topped 240 passing yards in three straight games, but at 238.5 yards, the under catches my eye based on his season-long production.

College Football Betting FAQ

What are the most common college football bets?

The most common college football bets are the point spread, moneyline, and game total. Bettors can also wager on player props, team totals, alternate spreads, and futures such as conference champions or the national championship winner.

How does the point spread work in college football betting?

The point spread gives one team a handicap to create a more even betting market. If a team is listed at -7.5, it must win by at least eight points for a spread bet on that team to cash. A team listed at +7.5 can lose by seven points or fewer — or win outright — and still cover the spread.

What does over/under mean in college football?

An over/under, also called a game total, is a wager on the combined number of points scored by both teams. Bettors can choose whether the final score will finish over or under the sportsbook's posted total.

What should you consider before betting on college football?

Matchups, quarterback play, offensive and defensive efficiency, injuries, pace, home-field advantage, and coaching tendencies can all be important.
