Turkey got to the quarterfinals via a thrilling 2-1 win over Austria in what may wind up being the best match of Euro 2024, with goalie Mert Gunok making an incredible late save to secure the victory. By expected goals (xG) -- according to FBRef's xG model -- Turkey were very lucky as Austria won the xG battle 3.1-0.9.

In the group phase, Turkey picked up wins over Georgia (3-1) and the Czech Republic (2-1) sandwiched around a loss to Portugal (2-0).

In Turkey's matches against Portugal and Austria -- their two toughest foes so far -- Turkey have conceded 5.0 xG and generated just 1.6 xG.

The Netherlands were convincing in a 3-0 Round-of-16 triumph over Romania, prevailing 2.7-0.3 on xG. It was an impressive showing, and the Netherlands are listed at +650 odds to win Euro 2024, benefitting from being on the easier side of the bracket.
