When building a daily fantasy baseball lineup on FanDuel, nailing the high-salary players is crucial to come out ahead of the pack.

For hitters, we want players with the capacity to put up big numbers, those with favorable matchups, and with a strong supporting cast that can increase their chances for runs and RBI. Looking at pitchers, strikeouts are king -- although, inning-eaters and win potential can't be ignored.

The high-salary picks are the backbone of your lineups, so we don't want to mess around. Let's take a look at some of the top high-salary players for today's main slate on FanDuel, which begins at 7:05 p.m. EST.

Spencer Strider, SP, Atlanta Braves ($11,300)

Kicking things off on the bump, Atlanta Braves ace Spencer Strider is the highest-salaried player of the slate -- for good reason. Strider gets a juicy matchup with a Minnesota Twins team that holds the highest strikeout rate in the league against right-handed pitchers.

Strider's had a rough go of late --- notably giving up 13 runs between two starts against the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets. Although he managed just 36 FanDuel points over that span, he rebounded in his most recent start with 9 strikeouts and just 1 run allowed in a win against the Philadelphia Phillies.

His skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) has remained stellar at 2.71 despite a 3.93 ERA that isn't as appealing. Strider's biggest draw is his strikeout potential. His 39.0% strikeout rate leads the league by a considerable margin, and he's punched out at least eight batters in 12 of his 15 starts.

Strider's strikeout ability paired with the Twins' high-strikeout ways could lead to a massive night for the Braves' righty.

Corey Seager, SS, Texas Rangers ($4,500)

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager is the third-highest salaried hitter of the day, but he's well worth the tag. Seager's been a catalyst for baseball's most explosive offense thanks to his .430 weighted on-base average (wOBA), the second-highest mark in the league.

Seager has been on a tear of late with a 1.115 OPS and 5 homers this month. He had a quiet weekend but dropped 35.5 fantasy points in a matchup with the Chicago White Sox last week.

numberFire projects Seager for 13.5 FanDuel points against the Detroit Tigers on Monday, which makes him numberFire's third-ranked batter of the night.

Seager's matchup is tantalizing. Texas has the second-highest implied total of the slate (5.17) against lefty Matt Boyd. Considering Seager has posted a .398 wOBA against southpaws, he should feast against Boyd, the owner of a 4.22 SIERA.

Matt Olson, 1B, Atlanta Braves ($4,300)

Moving back to Atlanta, first baseman Matt Olson is an enticing piece for DFS lineups.

He is coming off an incredible weekend, cranking out four home runs in three games against the Cincinnati Reds and racking up 107.7 FanDuel points in the series

A matchup with the Minnesota Twins' Sonny Gray isn't ideal. However, Olson has feasted against righties this season, boasting a 1.001 OPS in the split and belting 22 of his league-leading 25 home runs off righties.

Atlanta has an implied team total of 4.99, which serves as the third-highest of the slate. Given the plethora of offensive talent in Atlanta's lineup, Olson should have ample RBI opportunities.

Olson won't hit for a high average, but he makes his contact count. For the season, he sits in at least the 90th percentile in hard-hit rate, expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA), and barrel rate. With eight homers over the last two weeks, Olson's been one of the hottest hitters in baseball and can have another high-scoring night on Monday.
