FanDuel Expands Responsible Gaming Efforts During Problem Gambling Awareness Month

For Problem Gambling Awareness Month, FanDuel is introducing new programming to expand access to responsible gaming education and resources.
Craig Carton is launching a new series on FanDuel TV, "The Comeback with Craig Carton," focused on problem gambling recovery. FanDuel’s "Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting" program is also receiving new resources.
“FanDuel remains steadfast in its commitment to leading the industry in responsible gaming, and we are proud to introduce industry-first content and programs designed to destigmatize problem gambling and offer education on responsible play,” said Cory Fox, FanDuel Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Sustainability.
"The Comeback with Craig Carton"
Hosted by FanDuel’s responsible gaming ambassador Craig Carton, the new show spotlights real stories of recovery from gambling addiction in an effort to break stigma and raise awareness about help.
The first episode features former NBA player Randy Livingston and his wife, sports agent Anita Smith, who discuss their family’s experience with problem gambling—as well as life after recovery. The episode is now streaming on YouTube and FanDuel TV+.
Expanding "Trusted Voices"
FanDuel’s "Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting" program is adding new resources for college students, parents, and university staff. New educational content developed by ROGA, EPIC Global Solutions, Kindbridge Behavioral Health, and the Responsible Gambling Council will be added to ConversationsAboutBetting.com, along with content from KnowYourPlay.org.
The new resources will also be supported by a new media campaign to promote informed, proactive conversations about gambling.
Support and Partnerships
For Gambling Disorder Screening Day on March 11, FanDuel partnered with Kindbridge Behavioral Health to share the free, confidential Gambling Disorder Screener. The partnership also highlighted the telehealth counseling and support services available nationwide.
FanDuel also announced two separate donations. One will go to the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) to support its Agility Grants program. The NCPG works to fund gambling prevention non-profits nationwide in underrepresented communities.
The other donation will go to the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) to help fund a new Center of Excellence dedicated to responsible gambling research. The new COE will research new efforts in player protection, engagement strategies, and responsible gaming messaging.
“We are proud to partner with FanDuel as we work together to advance critical research that will shape the future of responsible gambling strategies,” said Arthur Paikowsky, President of ICRG. “Support from FanDuel is helping fund a Center of Excellence focused on responsible gaming behaviors, and we look forward to generating evidence-based insights that make a positive impact on communities.”
