Under 149.5 looks like a number set for a faster game than the one I expect.

UCLA ranked 308th in KenPom adjusted tempo last season, which puts the Bruins among the slowest teams in the country. Slow teams don’t generate many transition points, and they tend to pull the opponent’s pace down with them.

Arizona has also lost most of its rotation from last campaign, so neither side has the personnel to force a track meet on opening night.

The line is also high relative to this matchup. The last meeting at the Intuit Dome finished 69-65, a total of 134, and the 2024 game in Phoenix finished 57-54. Reaching 150 would take a scoring output neither team has shown against the other.
