TPC River Highlands Key Stats

Travelers Championship Betting Picks

These picks stand out relative to their FanDuel Sportsbook golf betting odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. All stats cited below originate at datagolf and reference ranks relative to the field over the past 50 rounds unless otherwise noted.

Collin Morikawa

Morikawa continued his good run of form with a T14 finish at the U.S. Open. At an extremely difficult Pinehurst No 2., he finished the week with strokes gained in every category, his third event in a row doing so. Most notably for Morikawa was his putting -- he gained +1.06 strokes putting per round, his second event in a row gaining at least 1.0 strokes with the flat stick.

Moving from Pinehurst No 2. to TPC River Highlands is a drastic change. This week's course is one of the shortest on tour and heavily rewards accuracy off the tee. It also has an above average number of approach shots from every distance under 175 yards.

Morikawa is first in the field in driving accuracy. In 2024, on approach shots from 100-150 yards, he is in the 89th percentile in proximity and 95th percentile in strokes gained per shot. From 150-200 yards, he is in the 96th percentile in proximity and 92nd percentile in strokes gained per shot.

He is 12th on the PGA Tour in Birdie or Better Rate this season. A low score is usually required to win at the Travelers, and with his current putting form, Morikawa has everything needed to post one. He has data golf's fifth-best course fit this week.

Russell Henley

Russell Henley is coming off a T7 at the U.S. Open where he led the field in strokes gained: putting (+2.42 strokes gained per round). At +1.56 strokes gained per round, Henley is in the middle of the best season of his career, with six top-20 finishes, including thee top-five finishes in 14 starts.

He is also a fantastic fit for TPC River Highlands. He is seventh in the field in driving accuracy, ninth in strokes gained: putting, and sixth in total strokes gained. His lack of distance off the tee is the only hole in his game this season, and that is heavily mitigated this week.

Henley is 17th in the field in strokes gained: approach. From 50-100 yards, he in the 83rd percentile in proximity. From 100-150 yards, that jumps to the 97th percentile. He finished T19 here in 2023 and 2021.

Tommy Fleetwood

Tommy Fleetwood has finished T21 or better in six of his last eight events, including a T16 finish at the U.S. Open last week. Over the last three months, he is seventh in the field in total strokes gained.

Fleetwood's Birdie or Better Rate is a slight concern -- he ranks 150th on tour this season, but he is accurate off the tee (sixth in the field) and has an excellent combination of putting (18th) and play around the greens (eighth).

He has gained at least +0.79 strokes per round with the flat stick in three of his last four events and has gained strokes putting in each of his three appearances at TPC River Highlands.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout

Christiaan Bezuidenhout is coming off a T32 finish at the U.S. Open where he played very well on and around the greens but was closer to average on strokes gained off the tee (+0.07) and on approach (-0.01) due to a lack of distance. His lack of distance won't hurt him as much at TPC River Highlands this week.

Bezuidenhout is second in the field in strokes gained: putting -- averaging +0.77 strokes gained: putting per round in 2024, tied with 2020 for a career-best mark. He is 33rd in strokes gained: approach. From 50-100 yards, he is in the 89th percentile in proximity and 91st in strokes gained per shot. From 100-150 yards, he is in the 96th percentile in proximity and 98th in strokes gained per shot.

Bezuidenhout is 13th in the field total strokes gained. He has the putting to compete this week, and his tee-to-green game should benefit from the shorter set up.

Tom Hoge

Tom Hoge missed the cut at the U.S. Open due to poor play around the greens (-1.85 strokes gained: around the green per round), but he gained strokes in every other category. He checks several key boxes this week.

Accuracy off the tee? 16th in the field. Strokes gained: approach? Fourth in the field. Birdie or Better Rate? Sixth on tour this season.

Hoge's approach play is a near-perfect fit for TPC River Highlands. From 100-150 yards, he is in 98th percentile in proximity and 99th in strokes gained per shot. The only golfer in the field who is better is Scottie Scheffler. Hoge is 19th in the field this week in total strokes gained.
