Dolphins sign wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to 3-year extension

The Miami Dolphins and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle have reportedly reached an agreement on a new 3-year contract worth up to $84.75 million, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

What It Means

Waddle's extension reportedly includes an impressive $76 million in guarantees and makes him one of the league's top five-salaried receivers in the NFL according to Schefter.

Waddle set the record for most receptions (104) by a rookie receiver after entering the league as a first round pick in 2021. And while his receiving volume decreased in the following two seasons with the addition of Tyreek Hill to the team's offense, Waddle has still notched back-to-back, efficient seasons with the Dolphins.

The Dolphins should be expected to continue having one of the most explosive offenses in the league in 2024 with Waddle and Hill catching passes from Tua Tagovailoa. Expect both receivers to go in the early rounds of 2024 fantasy drafts given their impressive track records of production next to one another.
