NFL TD Picks for This Week (Week 9)

Ollie Gordon II Anytime Touchdown (+110)

Lions at Dolphins — 1:00 p.m. ET

Any Time Touchdown Scorer

Ollie Gordon II has emerged as the primary goal-line option for the Miami Dolphins, and his touchdown usage in a nice matchup makes him attractive at plus-money odds.

Gordon has scored four rushing touchdowns in his last six games, totaling 408 rushing yards on 91 carries (4.5 yards per attempt) this season. More importantly, he's accounted for 23 of Miami's carries inside the red zone, including 10 attempts inside the 5-yard line. That accounts for approximately 71% of the team's rushing attempts inside the 5, giving Gordon a valuable role near the end zone.

While the Detroit Lions have been trending up defensively, this bout should be a high-scoring affair, with the over/under sitting at 50.5. That’s a positive for Gordon’s scoring outlook.

Gordon has handled at least 18 carries in three consecutive games and has four touchdowns on his 21 red-zone rushes through Week 8. Even if Miami struggles to move the ball consistently, Gordon's established goal-line role gives him a realistic opportunity to cash this bet.

Jonah Coleman Anytime Touchdown (+100)

Broncos at Panthers — 1:00 p.m. ET

Any Time Touchdown Scorer

Jonah Coleman is becoming an increasingly important piece of the Denver Broncos’ offense, and the rookie has a particularly appealing matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

With RJ Harvey sidelined by a knee injury, Coleman has earned additional opportunities in Denver's backfield. He handled 11 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown in last week's win over Kansas City while adding four receptions for 63 yards on five targets. Coleman played approximately two-thirds of the offensive snaps and finished with 104 scrimmage yards.

Coleman has now scored two rushing touchdowns on just 30 carries this season, and he's accumulated 173 scrimmage yards over his last two appearances.

Carolina has been vulnerable against opposing running backs, making this an encouraging matchup for a player whose workload is trending upward.

With Coleman contributing as both a runner and receiver, even-money odds are appealing given his expanding role.

DeMarcus Robinson Anytime Touchdown (+220)

Raiders at 49ers — 4:25 p.m. ET

Any Time Touchdown Scorer

The expectation is that Deebo Samuel and Mike Evans will be out this week. Someone other than George Kittle has to catch passes down the field for the San Francisco 49ers. That leads me to DeMarcus Robinson

Robinson caught five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown across his first two appearances before suffering a high-ankle sprain. He averaged 16.8 yards per reception in those games, including a 39-yard reception and a touchdown against the Rams in Week 1.

The 49ers could need Robinson to play a big role against the Las Vegas Raiders, and it’s a superb matchup versus a Vegas’ defense that has allowed the most yards per play (6.1).

Robinson’s big-play ability and touchdown upside make him an interesting play at these odds.
