The NFL doesn’t end with the 1:00 ET slate of games. The NFL's late-afternoon Sunday slate offers a smaller group of games, but that does not mean there is a shortage of appealing betting opportunities.
Using our NFL projections as a guide, here are some NFL player props and betting picks we like for today’s late slate.

NFL Picks, Prop Bets for Today’s Late Slate
Cardinals +8.5 (-110)
Cardinals vs. 49ers (4 p.m. ET)
Spread
Taking the Arizona Cardinals to cover on the road against a red-hot San Francisco 49ers team may make your stomach churn, but it’s the side I want to be on in this NFC West affair.
The 49ers have certainly been fantastic thus far, sitting at 2-0 while averaging 31.0 points per game, and their offense has produced 6.7 yards per play. Arizona hasn't been nearly as efficient on offense, averaging 16.5 points and just 4.6 yards per play, so this certainly isn't a bet based on the Cardinals having the better underlying profile.
Instead, the appeal is the number and San Francisco's growing injury issues. Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson is expected to miss multiple weeks with a high-ankle sprain, while Mike Evans exited last week's game with a hip injury and may be less than 100% even if he suits up. The 49ers were already dealing with several injuries elsewhere — including some to other pass-catchers — potentially leaving them thinner than their 2-0 record suggests.
Arizona also has enough in the passing game to keep this competitive. Jacoby Brissett has thrown for 372 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception through two games while Trey McBride has already hauled in 17 passes for 136 yards and 2 scores.
San Francisco should understandably be a sizable favorite at home, but the Cardinals can put up a fight. With +8.5 giving us some wiggle room, I like Arizona to cover.
Chris Godwin Over 35.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Vikings at Buccaneers, 4 p.m. ET
Chris Godwin - Receiving Yds
I was high on Chris Godwin coming into the season. Maybe I’m hanging on to false hope, but I think this matchup sets up well for him.
As we know, the Minnesota Vikings love to blitz, doing so 78.2% of the time — the league’s highest rate (by a mile). That should lead to Baker Mayfield looking to get the ball out of his hands quickly in a lot of situations versus the Vikes.
Enter Godwin.
Over his career, Godwin has proven to be an excellent short-yardage, chain-moving wideout. While he’s mustered only seven grabs for 86 yards through two weeks, Godwin has been on the field a ton, playing 86% of the snaps in both of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ games. He’s been efficient with his chances, too, hauling in all of his seven targets.
Due to injuries, Godwin has played only 18 games since the start of the 2024 season, but he’s averaged 56.8 yards per game in that span. I like him to have a solid game against Minnesota’s blitz-happy defense — one that has allowed the fifth-most receiving yards per game to WRs this year — and this line isn’t asking too much from him.
Juwan Johnson Under 35.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Raiders vs. Saints, 4:25 p.m. ET
Juwan Johnson - Receiving Yds
Juwan Johnson is off to a nice start, racking up seven grabs for 120 yards and a TD through two weeks. But I think there are reasons to back the under on his receiving yardage prop at this number.
Johnson’s snap rate was 84% in Week 1 in a negative game script at the Lions before falling to 53% at the Ravens in a neutral-script game where the Saints were within one score for most of the contest. This matchup at home against the Las Vegas Raiders profiles as a tight game, with the Saints a 3.0-point favorite. That could lead to Johnson’s snap rate being close to the 53% clip he posted a week ago.
The Raiders are also a tough matchup for him. Vegas has bottled up tight ends through two weeks, limiting the position to the seventh-fewest receiving yards per game (33.0). That’s a carryover from 2025 as they kept TEs to the third-fewest yards (38.6) and third-fewest catches (4.1) per game a campaign ago.
In a game with a low total (43.5) against a Vegas defense that’s been stingy against tight ends, Johnson may have a hard time clearing 35.5 yards.
