Which Team Will Draft Marvin Harrison Jr.?

With the Super Bowl now behind us, all eyes will be on free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft. One of the most notable prospects entering this year's draft is wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. from the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Harrison is generally regarded as the best receiver available in what is expected to be a deep group of pass-catchers in this year's draft. In a league where having a true No. 1 wideout is invaluable, there will surely be plenty of teams trying to land Harrison in the draft.

Here are the teams with the top five shortest odds (two teams are tied for the fifth-best odds) to select Harrison, followed by a breakdown of the best bets.

Arizona Cardinals (-175)

The Arizona Cardinals possess the No. 4 overall pick in this year's draft, and the three teams currently ahead of them in the draft order could have their sights on selecting a quarterback. Surrounding Kyler Murray with more weapons seems to be the ideal approach for Arizona, who will need to make a decision on impending free agent receiver Marquise Brown this offseason.

This past year, a mixture of Murray coming off a season-ending knee injury and a blah group of weapons led to the dynamic signal-caller recording a below-average -2.9% completion percentage over expected and -0.06 expected points added per drop back, per NextGenStats. Getting Murray someone like Harrison could make a massive difference if the Cardinals are truly committed to Kyler as their franchise quarterback.

Murray can excel at throwing down the field when he has the required pieces, and Harrison registered the fifth-most yards per route run (3.44) among wideouts with 50-plus targets in college football this past season, via PFF.

While backing the Cardinals to take Harrison at these -175 odds may not be the most fun, the fit makes a lot of sense for both sides.

Chicago Bears (+340)

The team with the first-overall pick in this year's draft is the Chicago Bears. At the moment, expectations are for the Bears to select a quarterback to begin the draft, and that quarterback is favored to be Caleb Williams, who is a whopping -1200 to be the first pick.

However, there's also a scenario where the Bears trade back -- either to keep Justin Fields and take a player at another position or to move back for a different QB than Williams. In both of those scenarios, the Bears could potentially be in a position to select Harrison to pair with D.J. Moore at wide receiver as they'll have options -- including trading up -- since they own the No. 9 overall pick, as well.

As things stand, it seems likely that the Bears hit the reset button and take one of the premier quarterback prospects to replace Fields. But if Chicago trades back or shows interest in wanting to give Fields another chance, Harrison ending up on the Bears isn't too far-fetched.

New England Patriots (+650)

All signs point toward the New England Patriots being another team who could address the quarterback position early in the draft. The Patriots own the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft, but there are reports that they could look to trade back and replace Mac Jones via free agency.

Jerod Mayo has taken over for Bill Belichick at head coach, and the Patriots will have to hire a general manager for the first time since 2000. While New England may prefer to move back if it isn't interested in one of the big-name quarterback prospects, it could stay put at the third overall pick and take Harrison.

It has been quite some time since the Patriots had a legitimate difference-maker at receiver, making Harrison a player they could certainly consider early in the first round. Signing or trading for a quarterback this offseason while making Harrison their new No. 1 target could pay dividends for a Patriots attack that had the third-worst schedule-adjusted passing offense this past season, per numberFire's metrics.
