NBA Prop Bets for Today: Best NBA Props
Donovan Mitchell Over 24.5 Points (+100)
Cavaliers at Hawks — 8:00 p.m. ET
Donovan Mitchell - Points
Donovan Mitchell has a favorable scoring setup as the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Atlanta Hawks.
Mitchell is averaging 24.8 points through Cleveland's first four games while FanDuel has his scoring prop sitting slightly below that mark at 24.5. He also averaged 27.9 points per game last season, so there is plenty of scoring upside relative to this number.
The matchup helps. Atlanta has surrendered 121, 120, and 129 points over its last three games, an average of 123.3 per contest, and this game carries the largest total on Thursday's slate (238.5).
Mitchell's shot volume and role as Cleveland's primary scorer make the over appealing at this number.
Zion Williamson Over 21.5 Points (-104)
Kings at Pelicans — 8:00 p.m. ET
Zion Williamson - Points
Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans get a home matchup with the Sacramento Kings on Thursday.
Williamson has averaged 20.7 points per game in the early going while shooting 56.4% from the field, and he enters this matchup after scoring 25 points against Denver on Wednesday.
The Kings are a sublime matchup. Sacramento ranks next to last in defensive rating so far this season and is also playing at a slightly above average pace (13th).
Williamson's efficiency remains the biggest selling point. He doesn't need an enormous number of field-goal attempts to reach 20 points because of how frequently he generates attempts around the basket and trips to the free-throw line.
At 21.5, I lean toward the over, but I wouldn't be interested it if the line moves higher before tipoff.
Damian Lillard Under 20.5 Points (-114)
Grizzlies at Trail Blazers — 10:00 p.m. ET
Damian Lillard - Points
I'm going under on Damian Lillard as the Portland Trail Blazers host the Memphis Grizzlies in Thursday's late game.
Lillard has averaged 21.7 points over his first three games while scoring 25, 19, and 21.
He’s been good, but he’s likely to regress a bit from three. He’s shooting 42.9% from deep so far this year and hasn’t been above 37.6% since the 2020-21 campaign.
Plus, Portland's deeper offensive rotation this year doesn't require him to carry the same scoring workload he has at other points in his career.
Memphis has also been excellent defensively to open the season, allowing only 107.0 points per game through four contests. The Grizzlies have held opponents to 11.3 made threes per game, which is relevant against a player who still derives a significant portion of his scoring ceiling from beyond the arc.
NBA Player Prop Bets FAQ
What are NBA player prop bets?
NBA player prop bets are wagers on specific statistical outcomes for individual players during a game — independent of which team wins or loses. You might bet on how many points a star guard scores, whether a big man grabs 10 or more rebounds, or how many assists a point guard dishes out.
What types of NBA player props are available?
FanDuel offers an extensive menu of NBA props. The most common categories include:
- Points — over/under on a player's scoring total
- Rebounds — over/under on total boards (offensive + defensive)
- Assists — over/under on dimes dished
- Three-pointers made — over/under on made threes
- Points + rebounds + assists (PRA) — combined stat total for those three stats
- Double-double or triple-double — yes/no prop on achieving the milestone
How do NBA player prop odds work?
NBA props use the standard American (moneyline) odds format. A negative number indicates how much you must wager to profit $100, while a positive number shows the profit on a $100 bet.
- -115 odds — bet $115 to win $100
- +115 odds — bet $100 to win $115
- -200 odds — bet $200 to win $100
What is a points prop bet in the NBA?
A points prop is a bet on whether a specific player will score over or under a set total. For example, a line might read: LeBron James — Points — Over 24.5 (-110).
Key factors to research before betting points props include the player's recent scoring form, the opposing team's defensive rating and points allowed to their position, pace of play, and how many minutes the player is likely to play.
What is a PRA prop bet for NBA?
PRA stands for Points + Rebounds + Assists — a combined stat prop that totals all three categories into one number. For example, a Nikola Jokic PRA line might be set at 49.5.
PRA props are popular for versatile players because their contributions span multiple statistical categories. They're less volatile than single-stat props since a slow scoring night can be offset by a strong rebounding or passing game.
