Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays

Zach Eflin to Record 5+ Strikeouts (-250)
Colton Cowser to Record a Run (-130)
Anthony Santander to Record an RBI (+160)

Combined Odds: +436

Zach Eflin will be facing his former team -- the Tampa Bay Rays -- for the first time since joining the Baltimore Orioles ahead of the trade deadline. In his first two starts for the Orioles, Eflin has combined for 10 Ks in 12.1 innings of action.

While Eflin ranks in just the 16th percentile in whiff rate (20.8%) and 23rd percentile in strikeout rate (18.9%), he is in the 90th percentile in chase rate (33.1%), and the Rays have the seventh-highest strikeout rate (25.5%) versus righties in the last month.

Besides Kyle Gibson -- who has just a 21.7% strikeout rate this season -- racking up six Ks versus Tampa Bay on Thursday, Eflin's chase rate could come in handy against a Rays squad that has the eighth-highest swinging rate on pitches outside of the zone (32.8%) and eighth-highest CSW rate (28.3%).

Zack Littell is set to make his 23rd start for Tampa Bay, and he's in the 36th percentile in xERA (4.35), 21st percentile in xBA (.268), and 19th percentile in barrel rate (9.4%). Littell is permitting a .336 wOBA, 1.31 WHIP, and 1.27 HR/9 to left-handed bats, making Colton Cowser and Anthony Santander intriguing players to target at the top of Baltimore's lineup.

Cowser has been batting out of the leadoff spot versus righties while he's scored at least one run in three of his last four outings. In addition to his recent success at the plate, Cowser boasts a .231 ISO or better and a .367 wOBA or better against two of Littell's three primary pitches (slider and four-seam fastball) versus lefty hitters.

As for Santander, the switch-hitting outfielder has tallied at least one RBI in 6 of his last 11 contests, totaling 10 RBIs in that span. Santander also sports a .359 wOBA, 136 wRC+, and .293 ISO when facing right-handed pitchers in 2024.

St. Louis Cardinals at Kansas City Royals

Bobby Witt Jr. to Record 2+ Total Bases (-170)
Vinnie Pasquantino to Record an RBI (+140)
Masyn Winn to Record a Run (-145)

Combined Odds: +470

Miles Mikolas is a pitcher we want to target often as he's surrendered seven-plus hits and multiple earned runs in four consecutive starts for the St. Louis Cardinals. Across 23 starts this year, Mikolas is in the 32nd percentile in xERA (4.47), 9th percentile in xBA (.278), 8th percentile in strikeout rate (16.1%), and 30th percentile in hard-hit rate (41.0%).

Those metrics could get Mikolas in trouble in a road matchup versus the Kansas City Royals on Friday. The two bats that are worth targeting in Kansas City's lineup for this SGP are Bobby Witt Jr. and Vinnie Pasquantino.

Witt is rocking a fantastic .427 wOBA, 177 wRC+, and .266 ISO against right-handed pitching this season. The talented shortstop for the Royals is also in great form with two-plus bases in 6 of his last 10 games.

Pasquantino is swinging a hot bat as he's on an 11-game hit streak. As a result of his recent stretch at the plate, Pasquantino has posted at least one RBI in eight of his last nine outings, totaling 17 RBIs during that span.

With Michael Lorenzen showing reverse splits of a .363 wOBA, 1.45 WHIP, and 1.65 HR/9 to righties, Masyn Winn is an intriguing player to target from the Cardinals. Winn has been hitting out of the leadoff spot for St. Louis recently with at least one hit in 13 of his last 15 games, and he's scored at least one run in four of his last five.

Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies

Grant Holmes Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-140)
Austin Riley to Record an RBI (+100)
Marcell Ozuna to Record 2+ Total Bases (-165)

Combined Odds: +440

Grant Holmes is expected to make his third start for the Atlanta Braves on Friday versus the Colorado Rockies, and he's thrown 70 pitches in his first two outings. Holmes should see around 80 pitches in his third start while he owns a formidable 14.5% swinging-strike rate and 25.6% strikeout rate in 2024.

The matchup is also a favorable one for Holmes as the Rockies have the second-highest strikeout rate (26.5%) versus right-handed pitching over the last 30 days. Five straight starting pitchers have racked up five-plus Ks against Colorado.

Tanner Gordon will be on the bump for the Rockies, and he's giving up a .531 wOBA, 2.14 WHIP, and 4.82 HR/9 to right-handed hitters. These splits are why Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna could be in store for productive performances for the Braves.

Riley is heating up with at least one hit in 9 of his last 11 games, and at least one RBI in 7 of those 11 contests. In his last two games alone, Riley has combined for four hits, two homers, and six RBIs.

Ozuna has been one of the best hitters in baseball all season with the fourth-most home runs (33) and third-most RBIs (88). The hard-hitting righty has accrued two-plus bases in three of his last five games -- with two homers and a double in that span.
