MLB SGP Bets

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox

Jarren Duran To Record A Run (-140)
Tyler O'Neill To Record 3+ Bases (+210)

Combined Odds: +577

The New York Yankees are producing a .338 wOBA (best in MLB), .447 SLG (second), and 122 wRC+ (best) against right-handed pitchers, so they should find scoring success against Brayan Bello. The right-handed Bello owns a 4.67 xERA and gives up 1.41 home runs per nine innings.

New York's lineup isn't the only reason to like the over. Nestor Cortes will be on the bump for the Yankees, and he's been a liability in away games.

Through 50 2/3 frames on the road, Cortes has been marred with a 6.04 ERA. He surrenders 1.78 home runs per nine innings in this split and Fenway shouldn't be any friendlier.

Boston's leadoff hitter is in a good spot to hit home plate, so let's add Jarren Duran to this SGP. He has recorded 73 runs this season (sixth-most in MLB) and is generating a 16.2% barrel rate, .315 ISO, and 41.1% fly-ball rate across the last 30 days.

If Duran gets on base, Tyler O'Neill could be the one to help him reach home.

O'Neill smashes against lefties to the tune of a .711 SLG (best in MLB), .378 ISO (second), and 54.5% fly-ball rate (sixth).

Across the last 14 days of play, he is swinging to a 20.0% barrel rate, 55.0% fly-ball rate, and .419 ISO.

Cortes walks righties at a low 5.0% rate. O'Neill could clear this prop with one swing of the bat. His ability to dominate this matchup could bring Duran home and help secure the over, making O'Neill an intriguing addition to this Same Game Parlay.

San Diego Padres at Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles (61-41) and San Diego Padres (55-50) meet up this evening. Grayson Rodriguez will start for the O's, and he sports a 3.78 xERA, 3.53 xFIP, and 3.51 SIERA. The Padres will send out Adam Mazur, who struggles with a 7.84 ERA, 6.02 xFIP, and 5.86 SIERA through seven starts.

Mazur has given up a .343 BA, .438 wOBA, .582 SLG, 1.69 home runs per nine innings, and a 39.7% fly-ball rate to left-handed hitters. It's not worth reading into this sample too much considering he has pitched only 31 frames in the majors, 16 of which were against lefties.

Regardless, Gunnar Henderson is always worth a look when given the platoon advantage. He owns a .300 BA and .297 ISO, good for a .597 SLG, against righties.

With Baltimore's leadoff batter in a good spot to get on base, perhaps we can rely on Anthony Santander to take care of business from there. The switch-hitting Santander generates a .296 ISO and a massive 57.9% fly-ball rate versus righties.

Across the last 30 days of play, Santander has managed a 20.3% barrel rate (8th-best in MLB; minimum 90 PA), 59.4% hard-hit rate (3rd), .299 ISO (14th), and a 58.0% fly-ball rate (highest in MLB).

Batting third, Santander is in a great spot to clear his leg of this SGP.

Oakland Athletics at Los Angeles Angels

Lawrence Butler To Record 2+ Bases (-110)
Brent Rooker To Record an RBI (+100)
Carson Fulmer Under 4.5 Strikeouts (+100)

Lawrence Butler has been swinging one of the hottest bats in town. Across the last 30 days of play, he has mustered a .491 ISO (best in MLB; minimum 80 PA), 62.1% hard-hit rate (2nd), and a 20.7% barrel rate (10th).

With Butler batting leadoff and the away A's guaranteed some at-bats in the ninth, he's in a great spot to record a couple of bases.

The opposing Carson Fulmer will start his third straight game for the Los Angeles Angels after being used solely out of the bullpen. Butler has the platoon advantage against the right-handed Fulmer.

Brent Rooker has recorded 70 RBIs (eighth-most in MLB) this season and has the potential to drive Butler home. Rooker has smashed righties with a .931 OPS, 45.6% fly-ball rate, and 43.8% hard-hit rate.

He's shined with a 23.5% barrel rate (sixth-best) and .417 ISO (third) across the last 30 days of play.

Rooker is also a top target in today's home run market.

With Butler and Rooker primed for an eventful night at the plate, let's tack on the under for Fulmer's strikeout prop on this SGP.

Fulmer generates a solid 23.5% K% while the A's strike out at a lofty 25.9% rate (second-highest in MLB) against right-handed pitchers. Not a glowing case for the under.

However, Fulmer hasn't gone past 77 pitches in his two starts, getting yanked in the fourth inning in both outings. One of those starts came against this very Oakland team last Sunday. In that one, Fulmer allowed three earned runs and punched out only three batters.

His second go at the A's could bring even less success. Oakland has some mean batters at the top of their lineup and could pounce on Fulmer now that they know his stuff. Plus, Fulmer seems to carry a pretty short pitch count leash.
