Verdict

Well-bred filly SIDIZA made it third time lucky in maidens at Navan on her latest start in September and, with the promise of better to come now switched to handicap company off a realistic opening mark, she looks the way to go. Stormie Outlook will appreciate this step back up in trip judged on her latest effort over a mile at Limerick, while Vierson also needs a second look.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.

Blinkers

A hood worn on a horse’s head to limit side vision, which can improve concentration. Blinkers are added or removed to relax a horse or give it more focus.

Fractions

The times recorded during the race; with timing starting just past the gate or when the gates open, then parroted for the quarter, half, three-quarters etc. Used as an indication of ability and speed.
