COUNTY COURT JUDGE (7) was solid enough when seventh last start at Newcastle, beaten 7 metres. There was plenty to like about his second at this circuit and distance prior. Peaking third-up off a let-up and a stable switch and has winning claims with even luck from the back line. RACING PAULA (10) has been competitive of late and kept the ball rolling last time when 1.2 metres from the winner in third. That made it three placings on the trot, all from this row and at this venue. Big chance to break through. CAPTAIN GROOVE (2) has been coming from wider barriers of late and has the gate speed to take advantage of this nice draw.
