College Football Week 0 Schedule and Odds for 2024

To some, the first round of college football action is akin to Christmas morning.

Presently, Week 0 is slightly more than two months away. Still, summer will fly by quickly as it always does. For this upcoming season, we'll get our first taste of college football on Saturday, August 24th. Similar to recent years, competition will embark on international soil right out of the gate.

With a quartet of Week 0 contests taking place from Dublin to Honolulu, only two of the four games will feature FBS schools on both sidelines, and those two games are the ones with odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. Keeping that that in mind, let's dive into the two Division I football clashes set for Week 0.

All college football odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook, and they may change after the article is published.

Florida State vs. Georgia Tech Week 0 Odds

  • Florida State Moneyline: -490
  • Georgia Tech Moneyline: +365
  • Spread: Florida State -12.5 (-110)
  • Total: 52.5

The 2024 Aer Lingus College Football Classic will kick off in Dublin, Ireland at Aviva Stadium (noon ET on ESPN). As the home of Ireland's national soccer team, the stadium is one of the finest outdoor venues that the British Isles has to offer.

This time around, the Florida State Seminoles and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have drawn the opportunity to play in Europe. Currently, this ACC affair yields Florida State as a 12.5-point favorite against the Jackets.

Two seasons ago, head coach Mike Norvell and the 'Noles rolled over G.T. in Tallahassee by a score of 41-16. Much has changed between then and now. At the moment, ESPN's college football power index has FSU (15.1 FPI) 11th in FBS while Georgia Tech is much further down at 54th (2.1 FPI).

SMU at Nevada Week 0 Odds

  • SMU Moneyline: -1800
  • Nevada Moneyline: +920
  • Spread: SMU -21.5 (-115)
  • Total: 56.5

Heading to "The Biggest Little City in the World," the SMU Mustangs will visit the Nevada Wolf Pack at Mackay Stadium in Reno (8 p.m. ET on CBSSN).

Notably, head coach Rhett Lashlee and SMU have lofty expectations for 2024. The Mustangs produced an 11-3 overall record last year upon leaving the American Conference -- can they keep up that level of play in the ACC? Meanwhile, Nevada is coming off a campaign wherein they were one of the worst teams in FBS.

FanDuel Sportsbook lists SMU as a three-touchdown favorite for this opener. Pertaining to the Wolf Pack, that leaves them as a +920 underdog on the moneyline.
