White Sox Analysis
The 2023 White Sox were one of the worst teams in baseball. The days of 2021 when their young pitching staff looked to have a bright future seem long ago at this point.
Going into the 2024 season, they don't have many promising aspects. They made some signings in the offseason but nothing that will really move the needle.
A big boost for the Sox would be if Dylan Cease can find his 2022 form. He saw his expected ERA (xERA) jump from 2.70 to 4.07 in 2023. He still had an elite 27.3% strikeout rate, so there is that.
The White Sox really struggled to hit last season, finishing 29th in runs scored. A bounce-back campaign from Eloy Jimenez would be great. He fell from a .370 wOBA to a .325 wOBA.
Chicago wasn't the worst team in the AL Central last season, but now they are projected to be below the Kansas City Royals. This won't be the year for them, and there is almost no appeal in betting them at these long odds.
