The Carolina Panthers have their new franchise quarterback after selecting Alabama quarterback Bryce Young first overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.

As of Wednesday, Young was -2000 to be the first overall selection according to the NFL Draft betting odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Young, 5'10" and 204 pounds, bucked the potential size concerns that follow him into the NFL to be named the first overall pick.

Last season at Alabama, Young ranked eighth in the nation in ESPN's QBR after a 3,325-yard, 32-touchdown, 5-interception season.

The sky is the limit with Young's playmaking potential, and the small frame certainly does not come with a lack of arm strength. His average depth of target of 10.0 yards downfield ranked tied for 40th in the country, according to PFF.

The Panthers' quarterback carousel should be settled for this year at least after seeing a three-man rotation of Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and P.J. Walker total just 16 touchdowns last season.
