The Detroit Pistons have been outstanding defensively to begin the season, allowing an NBA-low 100.3 points per game while outscoring opponents by 11.6 points per contest. They're coming off a dominant 124-91 victory over Charlotte and have won six of their first seven games.

Detroit also has a recent head-to-head advantage over the Philadelphia 76ers, winning 106-93 on the road on October 25. Cade Cunningham led the way with 26 points in that matchup while the Pistons held Philadelphia to just 40% shooting from the field.

Cunningham has averaged 23.7 points and 7.1 assists per game this season, and Detroit's defense should give them a chance to slow down Philadelphia's potent offense once again.

The absence of Jalen Duren is a concern for Detroit, but the Pistons have continued to produce without their starting center.

With home-court advantage and an excellent defense, Detroit is an appealing moneyline play.

Tyrese Maxey 3+ Made Threes (+116)

3+ Threes

Tyrese Maxey has been one of the 76ers' primary offensive weapons, averaging 29.1 points and 2.5 made three-pointers per game through eight appearances this season.

Maxey has made at least three triples in four of his last six games, including performances with four made threes against Milwaukee and Charlotte. He's also averaging 37.5 minutes per game, giving him plenty of opportunities to accumulate perimeter attempts.

Although the Pistons present a challenging defensive matchup, Maxey's consistent playing time and offensive involvement make his alternate three-point line worth considering at plus-money odds.

NBA Betting Frequently Asked Questions

What is the point spread in NBA betting?

The point spread is a handicap applied to the favored team to level the playing field. For example, if the Lakers are -6.5 against the Celtics, the Lakers must win by 7 or more points for a bet on them to pay out. A bet on the Celtics wins if Boston wins outright or loses by 6 points or fewer.

What does the moneyline mean in NBA betting?

A moneyline bet is a straight-up wager on which team wins — no spread involved. Odds use American format: a favorite is listed with a minus sign (e.g., -180), meaning a wager of $180 would win $100. An underdog carries a plus sign (e.g., +155), meaning a $100 bet would return $155 profit.

What is an over/under (total) bet in the NBA?

FanDuel will set a projected combined score for both teams. You bet whether the actual total points will go Over or Under that number. For example, if the total is 224.5, an Over bet wins if both teams combine for 225 or more points.

What are NBA player props?

Player prop bets focus on individual statistical performances rather than game outcomes. Common NBA props include points scored, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, steals, and combined stat lines (e.g., Points + Rebounds + Assists). You bet whether the player goes Over or Under the sportsbook's posted line.
