4 FanDuel NFL Studs to Target in Week 15
Hitting on high-salary players is the first step to having success in daily fantasy football on FanDuel.
These players take up the biggest chunk of your salary cap, and they need to deliver quality performances for your lineup to reach its ceiling.
Here are four studs to target on this week's main slate.
All betting odds come from the NFL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills
FanDuel Salary: $9,000
No matchup matters at this stage; we're starting Josh Allen as the stud of the week any time that he's an option.
Allen has been the best fantasy quarterback this season and is heading toward a huge battle against the Dallas Cowboys with the Buffalo Bills fighting for their playoff hopes.
The Bills have been up and down this season -- with much of it coming from Allen's struggles -- but his dual-threat abilities have still set him apart from the rest of the field. Allen is averaging a league-leading 24.7 FanDuel points after totaling 265.2 passing yards, 1.9 passing touchdowns, 5.5 rushes, 28.8 rushing yards, and nearly a rushing score (0.8) per game. He has registered 35 total touchdowns -- 25 through the air and a career-high 10 on the ground.
In a tilt against the Cowboys that should be back and forth, he should only add to these numbers on Sunday.
Despite how great the Cowboys have been defensively, there are certainly worse options for quarterbacks to face. Opposing quarterbacks are averaging 15.7 FanDuel points against Dallas. While that ranks in the bottom half of the league, we're only two weeks removed from Geno Smith scoring 31.0 FanDuel points against them. Allen should be able to do something similar.
Allen is projected for 23.5 FanDuel points per numberFire's model -- the most of any quarterback in Week 15.
Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers
FanDuel Salary: $10,500
Christian McCaffrey has probably become a boring answer, but until he stops delivering top-tier numbers, he's the stud we're riding with at running back.
McCaffrey leads all running backs with 22.3 FanDuel points per game after averaging 90.5 rushing yards, 4.0 receptions, 33.6 receiving yards, and a touchdown per week thanks to his overall 17 scores on the year.
It's McCaffrey's 18.1% target market share that combines so perfectly with his rushing abilities to give him an edge few other players in fantasy can match -- no matter the position. This week, he should be able to erupt once more in a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals sit at a rough 3-10 with nowhere to look except next year. That has come with a rough defense as a result with it being most apparent in terms of their rushing D -- or lack thereof. Arizona has the second-worst defense in terms of allowing FanDuel points to running backs, giving up 25.3 per game. They're allowing 120.5 yards on the ground from week to week.
The 49ers' running back scored four touchdowns when he faced the Cardinals earlier this season. Why should we expect anything less than dominance?
numberFire's model is, unsurprisingly, all in this week with McCaffrey as the top running back, projecting him for 21.0 FanDuel points.
CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys
FanDuel Salary: $9,200
CeeDee Lamb in a big game? Yeah, that sounds like a good time to run him out there.
The Dallas Cowboys will collide with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and we want every bit of these matchups in our lineups -- at least with the stars.
Lamb is at the top of the list in terms of skill players after the work he's been putting in all season long. On the season, Lamb has scored 18.1 FanDuel points a week, but those numbers are lifted even more when we look at Week 6 and beyond for the star wideout.
Since Week 6, Lamb is averaging 8.6 receptions, 12.0 targets, 111.9 receiving yards, and 0.9 receiving touchdowns per game, leading to 22.3 weekly FanDuel points. In the same period, the wideout has a 31.7% target market share, 40.4% air yards market share, and 35.2% red zone market share for the Cowboys. With Dak Prescott surging into the MVP conversation, it's come with Lamb getting most of the looks, leading the team in each of those categories.
The Bills have allowed 25.6 FanDuel points to wide receivers, so Lamb should have no problem in this matchup.
Lamb is projected for 17.3 FanDuel points per numberFire, which could leave him as the top receiver this weekend if Tyreek Hill is unable to suit up.
Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams
FanDuel Salary: $8,200
Cooper Kupp showcased why he's still considered a stud last weekend, giving us the trust to start him on Sunday.
Kupp snapped out of a slump with 8 receptions on 10 targets, totaling 118 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in a tough matchup. The Los Angeles Rams have looked like a better offense in recent weeks with the usage of Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua now creating opportunities for Kupp.
Before a week ago, Kupp had gone six games without recording at least 50 yards. That may not be inviting in the "stud" section most of the time, but it's the matchup that makes his $8,200 salary worthy of consideration.
The Washington Commanders do a great job at getting burnt by their opponents' passing games -- especially to the wide receivers. Wideouts are averaging 35.8 FanDuel points against Washington, ranking as the second-most in football.
It's a matchup like this that, despite the struggles, we have all the confidence in Kupp getting his. The wideout has a 25.3% target market share and 28.8% air yards market share, meaning that he should be able to make a difference.
numberFire's model believes so with their projections. Kupp is expected to finish with 14.8 FanDuel points -- the third-most for a WR on the slate this Sunday.
