3 NBA Player Prop Bets for Friday 11/3/23
Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.
Using a wealth of statistical data, including numberFire's daily basketball projections, here are some NBA player prop bets that look appealing via the NBA odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NBA Prop Bets
Luguentz Dort Over 13.5 Points (-115)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors due to a knee injury, which should create plenty of room for the other Oklahoma City Thunder young guns to thrive.
There's an array of interesting options when it comes to this Thunder team, but I think Luguentz Dort has the best chance to go off in SGA's absence.
Through five games, Dort is averaging 11.8 points -- lower than his 13.7 average from last season and lower than where we need him to be for tonight. However, his partner in the starting backcourt (SGA) has been taking 20.6 shots per game (sixth-most in NBA) while Dort has been taking three fewer shots per game than last year. He will shoot the ball more tonight.
Last season, Dort played in 13 games without SGA. He averaged 17.6 points in this span and cleared this prop in 10 of those 13 games.
Dort is also in for a great matchup tonight. The Warriors are allowing the eighth-most field-goal attempts (FGA) to guards per 36 minutes and allowed the fourth-most FGA in this split last season.
This allowed Dort to average 17.5 points in two games against Golden State last season -- even with SGA on the court. The Thunder's team total is set at 110.5 tonight, and I think Dort is primed to be a major contributor to said total.
Stephen Curry 6+ Made Threes (+180)
The Warriors have a 115.5 team total (second-highest) for tonight, and I think Stephen Curry will have some fun as the NBA In-Season Tournament kicks off.
Curry is making 5.6 three-pointers per game (3PM) and has hit at least six triples in three out of five games this season. The two games in which he failed to drain six or more threes came at the hands of below-average shooting performances (28.6% 3P% and 40.0% 3P%). His season average last year was a 49.3% 3P%.
He's been shooting an average of 12.2 shots behind the arc this season, a number I think could increase tonight with this matchup against the Thunder. Oklahoma City is allowing the 11th-most 3PA per game and gave up the 7th-most 3PA last season.
The Thunder have also been allowing the sixth-most FGA off of screens, and Curry also leads the league in points per possession off of screens.
With SGA out, they have lost their starter that is contesting the most 3PA per 36 minutes, so this loss could be felt when it comes to the guard-on-guard matchup with Curry.
Last season, Curry played three games against the Thunder and absolutely evisecerated them from behind the arc. In these matchups, he went 8-14, 10-16, and 6-13 from deep against Oklahoma City, averaging 8.0 3PM.
You can get Curry Over 4.5 Made Threes (-122) in standard markets, but I think the market is offering more than enough juice to make me side with him one-upping his set three-point prop for tonight.
FanDuel Sportsbook is offering a 50% profit boost on any 3+ Leg Same Game Parlay or Same Game Parlay+ for NBA games tonight, so if you have interest in the aforementioned props from the Warriors-Thunder game, I'd considered taking advantage of this promo.
Bobby Portis Over 14.5 Pts + Reb (-115)
Bobby Portis has one of the more undervalued prop totals on tonight's slate. He's averaging 18.0 points and rebounds (PR) this season while he averaged 23.7 PR last season.
His worst statistical performance so far this season ended with him recording 16 PR. Although he's not a starter and has only been averaging 19.7 minutes per game, he's extremely efficient on the court.
Plus, if anything, we could see an increase in Portis' minutes. He has a better total plus/minus than every Milwaukee Bucks starter not named Khris Middleton, and starting center Brook Lopez essentially got benched in Wednesday's loss against the Toronto Raptors, logging fewer than five minutes in the second half.
Portis and the Bucks will go up against the New York Knicks tonight. Last season, Portis averaged 19.7 PR against the Knicks across three games.
The Knicks have been giving up the fourth-most defensive rebounds to forwards per 36 minutes. New York ranks seventh in the league in FGA per game while they rank dead last in FGM per game. This has resulted in a league-worst 40.0% FG%, so rebounding opportunities should be ever-present for Portis.
