Finding low-salary production is one way to get a leg up on the competition in MLB DFS.

Here are some low-salary players to target on FanDuel for tonight's main slate.

Advanced statistics courtesy of FanGraphs.

Brayan Bello, SP, Boston Red Sox ($8,500)

The Boston Red Sox have been looking for a starter for quite some time and homegrown hurler, Brayan Bello, is looking more and more like the guy to do it.

The right-handed starter has turned a corner over the last two months for the Red Sox, finding his way to getting out one way or another. June was especially a good month for him as he put together a 2.54 fielding independent pitching (FIP) and limited the hard-hit rate to an impressively low 26.0%.

On the season, Bello has a 20.8% strikeout rate and a 4.02 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), putting together a second season to continuously grow on, as he should in the second half here.

The Red Sox head to Wrigley Field to take on the Chicago Cubs, a team that has been good on offense but by no means great -- which Bello should be able to take advantage of. The strikeout rate for Bello is nothing overly impressive but if you pair it with the Cubs' eighth-highest strikeout rate (23.9%), it could make for one of his best strikeout days of the season. Chicago's .316 weighted on-base average (wOBA) is only the 17th-best in the majors, making this a start to fire up Bello if you're looking for a discounted starter.

numberFire's model has Bello projected for 29.4 FanDuel points.

Gleyber Torres, 2B, New York Yankees ($3,000)

The beauty of playing in Coors Field makes Gleyber Torres and a number of other New York Yankees players potential options on today's slate.

Torres, like the majority of the Yankees, hasn't impressed by any means this season but has been one of their better bats overall -- especially with Aaron Judge being out of the lineup and having no timetable for a return. His overall season has included the best expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA) of his career at .348. He's been able to limit striking out this year as well (14.1% strikeout rate) and has 13 home runs to go with it. If he can lift the ball against the Colorado Rockies (38.7% fly ball rate) then this should be a big day for him.

The Rockies will start Austin Gomber in the Mile High tonight and to say he's struggled this year would be an understatement. Gomber sports a sky-high SIERA of 5.07 this season, the highest of his career, and doesn't really have much success striking batters out (15.4% rate).

New York has the best-implied total of the night against Gomber and the Rockies so there's no doubt that Torres and others should be able to take advantage in your lineups.

Torres is projected for 14.9 FanDuel points per numberFire.

Geraldo Perdomo, SS, Arizona Diamondbacks ($2,700)

Geraldo Perdomo has been a quality value time and time again this season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop earned himself an All-Star game spot with his play and should be carrying that in the second half following the break. Perdomo's .349 wOBA is the highest of his career as is his hard-hit rate of 25.9%. One of Perdomo's other solid statistics on the year is the 117 weighted runs created plus (wRC+). All of this should set up the shortstop for another good day against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Matching up against Chris Bassitt was once a tough one but the righty has struggled for much of this season. Bassitt has a 4.34 SIERA, his worst since the 2020 season. Where it gets worse is the 4.81 FIP which is his highest since 2016. Perdomo and the talented Diamondbacks offense could have a big night.

numberFire has Perdomo projected for 13.3 fantasy points tonight.
