World Series Prop Bets: Rangers at Diamondbacks, Game 4

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some MLB player props bets that look appealing via the MLB odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Please note that betting lines and numberFire's projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

MLB Prop Bets to Target

Christian Walker To Record 2+ Bases (+100)

The Arizona Diamondbacks will look to even things up with the Texas Rangers tonight in Game 4 of the World Series. In what shapes up as a bullpen game, Andrew Heaney and Joe Mantiply are listed as starters.

Though Heaney pitched in relief on Saturday, he threw only six pitches, so he could give Texas a bit more length than expected (the market on FanDuel Sportsbook doesn't have pitching props available). He served as a starting pitcher until September, so I do think it's fair to rely on him having a higher pitch count than someone like Mantiply.

Given that Heaney is a lefty and we can't exactly gurantee what alternative Rangers pitchers we will see on the mound tonight, I'd look to target Arizona batters who slug against lefties.

Christian Walker is probably the best candidate in the D'Backs lineup to make a meal out of Heaney. This season, Walker posted a .381 wOBA, .574 SLG, 141 wRC+, 48.6% fly-ball rate, and 24.1% HR/FB ratio against left-handed pitchers.

Walker is also one of the best fastball hitters in the league, ending the regular-season with a 1.25 wFB/C (20th in MLB). This could be good news for Walker bettors, given that Heaney throws his fastball 57.9% of the time (ninth-most).

Although Walker has not shined in the postseason, I do think this matchup offers sufficient bounce-back potential -- enough to make me side with him tonight.

Mitch Garver To Record An RBI (+140)

After Adolis Garcia exited last night's game with an injury, there is some uncertainty regarding his status for Game 4, which results in some uncertainty as to how the Texas lineup will shake out tonight.

Mitch Garver has been batting fifth for the Rangers, and if Garcia isn't able to play, we could see Garver bat cleanup. Either way, I like Garver's chances to drive in a run tonight.

Garver is preceded in the lineup by Marcus Semien, Corey Seager (.444 OBP in postseason), and Evan Carter (.452 OBP in postseason), which creates ample RBI opportunities.

This has resulted in Garver recording the third-most RBIs this postseason (behind Garcia and Yordan Alvarez), yet three other Texas batters not named Adolis Garcia have shorter odds than him on this prop -- so I do think he is undervalued.

Garver should face Mantiply for one at-bat tonight, which could put this prop in good standing given that Garver maintained a .344 batting average and 170 wRC+ against left-handed pitchers this season.

Unfortunately, one at-bat against Mantiply is the most Garver could see (Mantiply has yet to eclipse 1.1 innings during these playoffs). But given that Garver has recorded an RBI in 58.3% of games this postseason (higher than the 41.7% implied probability on this prop) and should see at least one very advantageous matchup, I feel comfortable siding with him tonight.
