The Miami Heat's improbable playoff run is ripe with reasons why the 8 seed in the Eastern Conference was unlikely to reach the NBA Finals.

The injuries they've overcome are part of that.

Within the first three games of the playoffs, the Heat lost Tyler Herro to a broken hand and Victor Oladipo to a torn patellar tendon.

Though Oladipo won't be returning this season, Herro has an expected timetable to return for the Heat.

The team's underdog mentality was never in question, and they had a feeling that Herro could return by the Finals.

This would mean Herro is back for the Heat's first home game, Game 3 on June 7th.

In games with Herro (plus Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo active), the Heat are just 28-26 on the season (and 20-33-1 against the spread).

Their offensive rating is 114.2 with a net rating of +0.1 in the split, however.

Interestingly, Miami has playe a bit better overall without Herro active.

Removing Herro from that split, the team is 17-8 with a net rating of +4.1 and an offensive rating of 117.0. Their against-the-spread record is 14-10-1 in that sample.

Though those are some strange splits, the team will gladly welcome an extra scorer to the rotation while squaring up with the Denver Nuggets' top-ranked offensive rating.

The Heat have +340 odds to win the NBA Finals. Herro has +50000 odds to win the NBA Finals MVP.
