Suns vs. Clippers Game 5 Analysis
With Kawhi Leonard sidelined with a knee injury, the Suns secured back-to-back road victories and return to Phoenix on Tuesday with a chance to end the series in Game 5. Despite Leonard's absence, Los Angeles has made things difficult for Phoenix, pulling within four points in the fourth quarter of Game 3 and keeping things close until the final five minutes of Game 4.
Russell Westbrook has been a big reason why. He's averaged 33.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists over the last two games. He will need to continue to produce at that level for the Clippers to have any chance at extending this series. At home this season, the Suns have been decent, but not exceptional, posting a 68.3% win percentage, eighth-best in the NBA.
The big story for the Suns in this series has been the minutes played by Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. Durant (43.8 minutes per game) and Booker (43.5 minutes per game) have played the most minutes in the playoffs thus far, with a decent gap between them and the next closest player, Donovan Mitchell (40.6 minutes per game). The Suns would benefit from ending this series as soon as possible, and winning on Tuesday allows them to avoid another trip to Los Angeles.
