Stanley Cup Final Series Props to Target
The Stanley Cup Final begins on Saturday night. It will feature a lot of talented players on both teams. This series should be really exciting, and we also can find some series bets -- via FanDuel Sportsbook's Stanley Cup Final odds -- to add to the excitement.
The Stanley Cup Final odds at FanDuel Sportsbook offer us a plethora of options to bet on -- from which player will tally most points in the series, how many games will go to overtime, some potential records that could be broken and so on. We have it all.
Here are three series bets I like for the Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers.
Stanley Cup Final Odds
Leon Draisaitl Most Goals in the Series (+600)
Leon Draisaitl is an elite player in the regular season who becomes even better in the playoffs. He averages 0.48 goals per game during the regular season. That shoots up to 0.61 in the playoffs -- a pace that amounts to more than 50 goals in an 82-game season.
He's tied for second in the playoffs with 10 goals, trailing only teammate Zach Hyman. Hyman has much shorter odds in this market -- at just +370. His goal scoring has been ridiculous this season, a huge outlier from his career norms. Hyman also just doesn't possess the same skill as Draisaitl, who is capable of taking over games by himself.
The other players with better odds than Leon are Sam Reinhart and Connor McDavid. Reinhart has eight goals in 17 playoff games -- two fewer than Draisaitl. He is definitely capable of leading the series goals, but his odds shouldn't be significantly better than Draisaitl's.
This wasn't the season for McDavid scoring goals. His regular season total went from 64 last season to 32 this season, and he has just five thus far in the playoffs. He is still the best player in the league but has been more of a pass-first player in 2023-24. Therefore, I wouldn't really consider betting him at better odds than Draisaitl's, barring some change in McDavid's game.
At these odds, I like betting on one of the league's deadliest scorers to have the most goals in the Stanley Cup Final.
Carter Verhaeghe to Record 3+ Shots in Every Game (+450)
Carter Verhaeghe has had some huge moments in the playoffs for the Panthers in the past three seasons. Today, we'll be looking at his shot volume.
Verhaeghe leads the playoffs in shot attempt rate, averaging 23.69 shot attempts per 60 minutes. That's higher than it was in the regular season, when he averaged 21.98 shot attempts per 60.
In 17 playoff games, Verhaeghe has three-plus shots in 11 of them. The Oilers allowed 34 shots on goal in their Game 6 victory to make the Cup final and can be exploited with how thin their defensive group has been in the playoffs.
We're getting a good +450 number on Verhaeghe to accomplish this, so I like this bet.
Connor McDavid to Record a Point in Every Game (+260)
As discussed above, McDavid hasn't been scoring a ton of goals this season. That doesn't mean he hasn't been getting points.
Currently, McDavid has 31 points in 18 playoff games this season. Even shooting 9.1% -- well below his career average 15.1% -- hasn't hurt his point total.
McDavid has recorded a point in 14 of 18 playoff games. That includes a weird stretch in the second round against the Vancouver Canucks where he appeared to not be fully healthy. His goal in Game 6 against the Dallas Stars made it seem like he's back to his best, and he's had nearly a full week to rest before this series begins.
In his career, McDavid averages 1.52 points per game, so getting +260 on him having a point in every game are odds that I find appealing.
