Premier League Predictions: EPL Picks, Best Bets for Matchweek 7

EPL Betting Picks in Summary

  • Chelsea Moneyline (+120)
  • Man City-Ipswich Under 3.5 Goals (-110)
  • Arsenal Moneyline (-190)

The Premier League returns this weekend with an interesting Matchweek 7 slate headlined by several contenders trying to keep pace near the top of the table.

Manchester City enter the weekend a perfect 6-0-0 with a league-best 18 points while Arsenal sit three points behind them at 5-0-1. Brighton have been one of the early surprises, sitting third after winning four of their first six matches, while Liverpool and Manchester United have endured much bumpier starts.

When looking at the EPL soccer odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, which bets make the most sense for this this weekend?

EPL Predictions: Premier League Picks

Chelsea Moneyline (+120)

Chelsea at Everton (Sat, 7:30 a.m. ET)

Chelsea haven't been totally convincing through six league matches, but getting them at plus money to win makes for an appealing spot at Everton.

The Blues are 3-1-2 with 15 goals scored through six matches. They flashed their offensive ceiling in a big way last weekend, putting five past Bournemouth in a 5-1 victory.

Everton deserve plenty of respect. They're unbeaten at 2-4-0 and have conceded only five times, so this isn't an easy away fixture by any means. Still, Chelsea's attack gives them considerably more game-breaking ability, and their 15 league goals are nearly twice Everton's total of eight.

At a plus-money number, I'll back Chelsea to hand Everton their first league defeat of the campaign.

Man City-Ipswich Under 3.5 Goals (-110)

Ipswich at Man City (Sat, 10 a.m. ET)

Manchester City should control Saturday's meeting with Ipswich, and I like the match to go under 3.5 goals.

City have started 6-0-0 while allowing only five goals in six matches. City's +11 goal differential is the best in the league, but their early success hasn't required four- and five-goal outbursts every week.

Ipswich have been competitive, too. They enter at 3-0-3 and have shown an ability to hang around in matches even while carrying a negative goal differential. The Tractor Boys’ defensive issues make a City victory the likely result, but a scoreline such as 2-0 or 3-0 gets us to the window we're looking for.

Plus, with City coming off a midweek heavyweight battle against PSG in addition to last Sunday’s match at Anfield, they may take their foot off the gas a little for this one.

Arsenal Moneyline (-190)

Arsenal at Nottingham Forest (Sun, 11:30 a.m. ET)

I'll close with Arsenal to take all three points at the City Ground.

The Gunners are 5-0-1 through six matches and have surrendered only five league goals. They’ve been excellent outside of a 3-0 defeat at Brighton.

Forest have gone the other direction. They're 1-2-3 with a -3 goal differential, and their recent league results include losses to Coventry and Crystal Palace.

Arsenal's defense is what gives me the most confidence here. Forest shouldn't get many high-quality chances, and Arsenal don't need to turn this into a high-scoring match to win.

Soccer Betting FAQ

What is a moneyline bet in soccer?

A moneyline bet is a wager on which team will win the match. Because soccer matches can end in a draw, most moneyline markets include three options: the home team, the away team, or a draw.

What does “draw no bet” mean?

Draw no bet removes the draw as a losing outcome. If the match ends tied, your wager is refunded. If your team wins, the bet wins.

What is a soccer total?

A total is a bet on how many combined goals will be scored in a match. For example, an Over 2.5 Goals bet wins if at least three goals are scored.

What does “both teams to score” mean?

Both Teams to Score, often abbreviated BTTS, is a wager on whether each team will score at least one goal during the match.
