Golf in the Olympics is still new (again), having returned to the games in 2016 for the first time since 1904.
In 2024, the sport will be played for the third time since returning to the schedule for both men and women.
On the men's side, the United States' Xander Schauffele won the gold medal in 2020 at the Kasumigaseki Country Club's East Course in Tokyo, Japan.
In 2016, Justin Rose won in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
This year, the event will be held at Le Golf National in Guyancourt.
Based on the Olympic Golf Rankings (OGR), the field of 60 golfers is set.
Plenty of other rankings systems exist in the golf world, and they can help us see the strength of the golfers teeing it up in France.
Below are the rankings for golfers in the men's field. The rankings come from the following sources:
- Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR)
- OWGR's Strokes Gained World Rating
- DataGolf
- The Universal Golf Rankings (TUGR)
- MasseyRatings
In addition to the OGR rankings (which range from 1 to 60) and each golfer's odds to win the Olympic gold medal on FanDuel Sportsbook, these five rankings are listed below, as well as an average of the five for each golfer.
