NHL Player Prop Bets to Target on Friday 11/3/23
Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.
Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Please note that betting lines and numberFire's projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.
Jeff Skinner To Score a Goal (+140)
The Buffalo Sabres have a 3.59 implied goal total against the Philadelphia Flyers, in a matchup that should feature plenty of goals.
When it comes to the Flyers' defense, they are allowing 2.91 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the eighth-worst in the league this season. We also see them in the top 11 of the league for the most penalty minutes this season. Giving opposing teams extra opportunities to score is never a good thing.
We'll look to Jeff Skinner for a goal tonight, who comes in with 5 goals, 5 assists, and 36 shots on goal through 10 games. He has the second-most shots on goal for the Sabres this season and is the primary shot take on the second forward line.
Skinner is also up on the first power-play unit, which should play well for him with the Flyers taking so many penalties this season. As usual, I like to target high-volume shooters who haven't scored in a few games and Skinner fits the bill with 11 shots over his last three games, but no goals.
Jordan Kyrou To Score a Goal (+170)
The St. Louis Blues are not a good team but Jordan Kyrou is a good player.
That's the reality of the situation in St. Louis this season and it makes Kyrou one of the few viable options from their roster. He leads the team with 26 shots on goal through eight games yet, only has one goal to show for it.
He's on the second forward line and the first power-play, and is the clear primary offensive option on both units. This is a player who scored 64 goals over the last 153 games -- 0.4 Goals per game -- and is only at 0.125 Goals per game this season.
Yes, it's a smaller eight-game sample size, but he should be producing more than he currently is.
He'll be up against the New Jersey Devils, who are on the second night of a back-to-back, and come in allowing 3.01 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fifth-worst in the league.
Kyrou has the skill and now gets to take on a team with tired legs from last night. It's his time to get the offense going and find the back of the net.
