Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Sam Reinhart Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-148)

The Florida Panthers open the second round of the playoffs as -172 home moneyline favorites against the Boston Bruins.

After a quick five-game series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Panthers have been biding their time as they waited for their next opponent, who is coming off a hard-fought seven-game series.

After an overtime winner on Saturday night, it's a quick turnaround for the Bruins, who are facing a juggernaut of a team in the Panthers. I'm expecting this to be a bit of a one-sided matchup and it's coming all from the Panthers tonight.

We'll start with Sam Reinhart, who led the Panthers with 23 shots on goal in the first five games of the playoffs, going over this 2.5 prop in each game. With time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit, he'll always have high ice time to rack up the shots.

In their first series against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Bruins allowed a total of 456 Total Shot Attempts, while taking only 415. They didn't control the pace of play, something the Panthers have excelled at this season.

The Panthers will come out firing on all cylinders and Reinhart will help lead the way.

Brandon Montour To Record 1+ Points (+118)

A simple point prop is always a good way to get exposure to a high-power offense.

That is what we have with Brandon Montour, who skates on the second defensive pairing and, more importantly, the first power-play unit for the Panthers.

He piled up 3 points and a solid 12 shots on goal in the first five games of the playoffs, a strong offensive output for a defenseman. Montour can keep that going, especially if the Panthers are able to get some power-play opportunities.

In the first round against the Maple Leafs, the Bruins averaged over seven penalty minutes per game, a dangerous mark to have against the Panthers, who finished the regular season with a top 10 power-play (23.5%).

Montour is involved in the offense and the man-advantage should only boost his chances to pick up a point tonight.
