NHL Prop Bets

Matthew Tkachuk To Score a Goal (+195)

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals gets underway tonight with the New York Rangers hosting the Florida Panthers.

With plenty of stars on each side, we are set for an elite playoff series to determine the Eastern Conference champion.

The Panthers are regarded as having the better offense and that has shown true throughout the first two rounds of the playoffs.

Through 11 games in the playoffs, the Panthers have generated 760 Total Shot Attempts and 363 actual shots on goal. For the Rangers, through 10 games in the playoffs, they have 606 Total Shot Attempts and 261 actual shots on goal.

The Panthers consistently generate offensive chances and that's where we'll start things off with some props tonight. Matthew Tkachuk has the second-most (44) shots on goal for the Panthers in the playoffs but only four goals to show for it.

He has no goals over his last five games despite having a very strong 18 shots on goal, while seeing time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit.

Tkachuk is a high-volume shooter, who plays a prominent offensive role, and simply hasn't scored in a few games. He has great odds for a goal and plays in an elite offense that can put up goals in a hurry.

Brandon Montour Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+110)

Next up, over 2.5 shots on goal for Brandon Montour, the Panthers' top defender.

As noted above, the Panthers like to generate offensive chances early and often. That has been their calling card for a few seasons and it's carried over in the playoffs, a surprise to no one.

I'm expecting this series to start with a bit of extra offense in the first few games and turn ultra-defensive as the series goes on.

Montour comes in with at least two shots on goal in all 11 playoff games this season and over this mark in four of them. With time on the second defensive pairing and the first power-play unit, Montour is always in a spot to fire the puck on the net.

With offense on the front foot for the Panthers, the chances will be there for them to pile up the shots.
