NFL TD Picks for This Week (Week 8)
Chase Brown to Score a TD (-155)
Titans at Bengals — 1:00 p.m. ET
Chase Brown is my favorite running back touchdown bet of the week. The Cincinnati Bengals are 12.5-point home favorites over Tennessee, creating an ideal game script for Brown to rack up carries near the goal line.
Brown has handled 82 carries and 28 receptions through six games, giving him a significant overall offensive role. More importantly for touchdown betting, he has 16 red-zone touches, including 13 carries inside the 20-yard line. Cincinnati has converted 63.6% of its red-zone trips into touchdowns, further strengthening the case for Brown to finish a drive with a tuddie.
Brown has also played at least 70% of the snaps in all but one game this campaign while accounting for about 15% of the team's targets. His receiving involvement means he can stay on the field even in any situation, and his combination of snap share, red-zone work and game script makes him one of the better touchdown candidates on the slate.
George Pickens to Score a TD (+100)
Cardinals at Cowboys — 1:00 p.m. ET
George Pickens has a strong touchdown setup in one of the highest-scoring environments on Sunday's slate. The Dallas Cowboys host Arizona, and Pickens has established himself as one of Dak Prescott's most important downfield weapons.
Pickens entered the week with a 21.8% target share and 8.29 targets per game while paces Dallas’ WRs in snaps this season, which keeps him heavily involved in the Cowboys’ high-octane passing game. He also has seven targets from inside the red zone over the season, giving him a clear path to touchdown opportunities.
The matchup adds to the appeal. Arizona has allowed opposing wide receivers to average 137.1 receiving yards per game this season, and this indoors game has shootout potential as the total sits at 54.5.
With Dallas carrying one of the stronger implied team totals on the slate, the table is set for Pickens to touch paint.
Garrett Wilson to Score a TD (+190)
Raiders at Jets — 1:00 p.m. ET
Garrett Wilson has taken a bit of a back seat recently in the New York Jets' offense, making only six grabs over the last two games. We could see some squeaky-wheel treatment this week in a friendly home matchup versus Vegas.
Wilson’s season-long usage numbers are good as he owns a 25.1% target share, 2.09 yards per route run and a 30.6% first-read share this season. He is also playing more than 90% of the Jets' offensive snaps, which gives him one of the best opportunity profiles in the NFL.
The red-zone usage is particularly encouraging. Wilson has four red-zone targets this season.
The matchup helps, too. Las Vegas has also allowed the fifth-most yards per target and fantasy points per opportunity to perimeter wide receivers over its last five games, creating a favorable matchup for New York's top wideout.
