Which Team Will Draft Michael Penix Jr.?
With Super Bowl LVIII officially behind us, the football community will now prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft.
As with most seasons, there are multiple teams in need of a new quarterback for the approaching year. That should translate well for the upcoming draft class since there are a handful of signal-callers with high-potential.
Of that crop, former Washington Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will most likely have his name called in the first round, but which landing spot feels most realistic? Fortunately for NFL fans and bettors alike, we have markets exactly on the matter.
Already, you can find odds to draft Michael Penix Jr. via the 2024 NFL Draft odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. With April's event in Detroit just over two months away, let's dive into the numbers.

Michael Penix Jr. NFL Draft Betting
Atlanta Falcons (+430)
After the way quarterback Desmond Ridder performed in his second year with the Atlanta Falcons, I'd imagine they are exploring outside options at the game's most important position. Also, with Raheem Morris now the head coach in Atlanta, there certainly will be a new direction.
Depending on what exactly transpires over the first five selections, Penix could absolutely be the top quarterback prospect available when the Falcons are on the clock at No. 8 overall. Should that be the case, the accurate lefty could mesh well with Atlanta's young offensive trio of Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts.
Yielding +430 odds, the Falcons are viewed as the favorite to select Penix. Genuinely, Penix has the skills to thrive with current personnel.
Penix displays abilities in the pocket while also showing the capacity to be a high-volume passer; this is a player who completed more than 1,000 passes through his NCAA career.
Seattle Seahawks (+470)
In what could be a fit both culturally and schematically, Penix remaining in the Emerald City to play for the Seattle Seahawks is not at all out of the question. Hey, Lumen Field and Husky Stadium are only about five miles apart as the crow flies.
In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Seahawks are in possession of the No. 16 overall pick. Additionally, they still have wily veteran Geno Smith under center. Still, if Penix starts to slide in the first round, Seattle would be wise to give Penix a second look.
The current starter Smith will turn 34 years old during the 2024-25 campaign. From there, the Seahawks have a new head coach for the first time in 14 seasons. Coming over from the Baltimore Ravens, Mike Macdonald will take over HC duties for Pete Carroll as the latter transitions to a front-office role.
With a new regime, perhaps Seattle takes a quarterback that will instantly resonate with the 12s. Right now, FanDuel Sportsbook has +470 odds on the Seahawks taking Penix in the looming draft.
Minnesota Vikings (+480)
Considering the Minnesota Vikings have not yet made a definitive move pertaining to signal-caller Kirk Cousins, there could be a new player taking the snaps in the Twin Cities. Of course, Cousins was performing brilliantly before tearing his Achilles tendon in Week 8.
Minnesota's first selection in 2024 will come at No. 11 overall. In the event that Atlanta decides to pass on Penix, the former Husky could be there to supply a demand for the Vikings. As it is now, there are dynamic pieces to thrive with on offense.
To form one of the top receiving corps in the NFL, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson each offers dynamic skills. In college, Penix was grouped together with a similarly explosive bunch.
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell -- a former NFL quarterback himself -- could be intrigued by Penix's tendency to throw the ball with both finesse and power. Also, something about Penix staying in purple threads feels natural.
Las Vegas Raiders (+480)
After a cantankerous tenure with Josh McDaniels as head coach, the Las Vegas Raiders are still trying to right the ship. That process was started with the recent decision to pull the interim tag off now head coach Antonio Pierce. That means it is unlikely the highly-priced Jimmy Garoppolo returns to Raider Nation.
In his day, Pierce was a champion linebacker, winning Super Bowl XLII with the New York Giants. Fast-forward to now, and he brings solid coaching experience from the defensive side, but where does Las Vegas go at quarterback?
In 2023, Aidan O'Connell showed flashes as a rookie, but he did not come close to solidifying the starting signal-caller position. O'Connell wound up making 10 starts, committing 7 interceptions along the way.
How the Raiders approach the upcoming draft will be paramount. Playing in a city where they no longer have a true home-field advantage, the Raiders will need a show-stopping player at quarterback to be taken seriously in Vegas -- an arena where there is plenty of other entertainment for residents to stay occupied.
