NFL DFS Picks in Summary

Part of the beauty of NFL DFS on FanDuel is that the slate changes — sometimes drastically — from week to week.

Using our NFL DFS projections as a guide, let's take a look at some of the best daily fantasy football plays at each position — accounting for salary — on this week's FanDuel main slate.

NFL DFS: Best Picks for This Week

Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers — $9,000

Christian McCaffrey is my favorite play of the slate.

McCaffrey recorded 10 carries for 68 yards and added five receptions for 20 yards on eight targets in Week 1. The receiving involvement is particularly encouraging because it gives him multiple ways to produce FanDuel points.

San Francisco also has a favorable setup against the Miami Dolphins. The 49ers are heavy favorites, creating the possibility of a positive game script for McCaffrey while also keeping his touchdown upside high.

At $9,000, McCaffrey carries one of the highest salaries on the slate, but his workload gives him a ceiling that justifies the salary.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks — $9,000

In Week 1, Jaxon Smith-Njigba immediately reminded everyone why he's capable of being a weekly DFS difference-maker.

He caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown in the Seattle Seahawks‘ opener, giving him an enormous ceiling before even considering the matchup. Smith-Njigba was clearly a focal point of the passing game and now gets an Arizona Cardinals defense that presents an easier challenge than the New England Patriots did in Week 1.

Smith-Njigba's combination of target volume and big-play ability makes him worth considering in both cash-game and tournament lineups.

CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys — $8,500

CeeDee Lamb is an excellent bounce-back candidate after a relatively quiet Week 1.

Lamb caught five passes for 44 yards and a touchdown against the New York Giants, and the Dallas Cowboys' passing game never really got into a rhythm. I hope that scares some people away from Lamb this week, but it probably won’t keep many away.

Dallas now gets the Washington Commanders in a game that carries significant scoring potential. Lamb remains Dak Prescott‘s top target, and his ability to score from anywhere on the field gives him plenty of upside.

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys — $8,000

Pairing Dak and Lamb is one of the more appealing QB-WR stacks on the Week 2 slate.

Prescott threw for only 175 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants, but his passing production can improve considerably in a matchup with Washington. The Commanders surrendered three passing touchdowns and several explosive completions in Week 1, creating an appealing environment for Dallas' passing attack.

Prescott also gives you access to Lamb and George Pickens without needing to guess which Dallas wideout has the bigger game.

Omarion Hampton, RB, Los Angeles Chargers — $7,300

Omarion Hampton is one of my favorite mid-tier running back options this week.

His Week 1 box score wasn't impressive, as he totaled 43 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries, but the game script worked against the Los Angeles Chargers' rushing attack. The Bolts fell behind early and ultimately had to throw more than they likely would have preferred.

That could change against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Chargers are favored by 6.5 points, giving Hampton a chance to receive the type of rushing workload we expected coming into the season (although they were even bigger favorites a week ago).

Michael Wilson, WR, Arizona Cardinals — $6,000

Michael Wilson is an intriguing value receiver who doesn't need a massive performance to make his salary work.

Wilson caught five passes for 56 yards in Week 1, and that sort of involvement gives him a solid foundation at $6,000. Arizona gets Seattle at home, creating another opportunity for Wilson to see steady volume, particularly if the Cards fall behind, which may happen as they are 4.5-point ‘dogs.

His role is a good one, and the salary is friendly.

Jakobi Meyers, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars — $5,500

Jakobi Meyers is another low-salary WR I’m into.

He caught two passes for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns, including a 32-yard reception. The Jaguars now face a road game against the Denver Broncos. While it’s a tough matchup, Meyers' ability to operate both underneath and down the field gives him multiple avenues to produce.

At just $5,500, Meyers can help unlock high-salary plays elsewhere, and he may be the Jags’ clear WR2 this week if Brian Thomas Jr. is out.

Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens — $5,200

Mark Andrews gives us another way to save salary without completely sacrificing upside.

Andrews caught four passes for 49 yards in the Baltimore Ravens‘ Week 1 win and played 49 offensive snaps, leading the Ravens' tight ends. He's still heavily involved in one of the league's most dangerous offenses.

The Ravens’ offense could have another big day this week at home versus the New Orleans Saints, giving Andrews good TD equity at a value salary.
