NBA In-Season Tournament: Betting Odds for Each Group
The first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament kicks off on November 3rd as all 30 teams begin their journey for the $500,000 (per player) prize and NBA Cup -- concluding on December 9th.
Here are the overall in-season tourney title odds.
With three groups per conference and so much uncertainty on how the tournament will be played, let's dive into each group and see who the contenders are. Will teams be willing to go all out for this in-season championship? We're going to find out.
Let's take a look at each group and every team's odds of winning, per the NBA In-Season Tournament odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.
NBA In-Season Tournament Odds
East Group A Winner Odds
- Philadelphia 76ers (+155)
- Cleveland Cavaliers (+170)
- Atlanta Hawks (+500)
- Indiana Pacers (+550)
- Detroit Pistons (+1600)
The Philadelphia 76ers just moved on from James Harden, shaking up their team but getting rid of a guy who didn't want to be there. The Cleveland Cavaliers certainly have a roster with enough talent to get it done with Donovan Mitchell leading the way.
East Group B Winner Odds
- Milwaukee Bucks (-120)
- Miami Heat (+300)
- New York Knicks (+340)
- Charlotte Hornets (+1200)
- Washington Wizards (+2900)
As co-favorites to win the entire tournament (+950), the Milwaukee Bucks are understandably favorites to win Group B. Milwaukee has shown dominance in the regular season before, taking the East's top seed in 2022-23. The Miami Heat are the Bucks' main competition, but Miami has started the season slowly at 1-3. The New York Knicks can surprise -- as they did in the playoffs last season.
East Group C Winner Odds
- Boston Celtics (-150)
- Toronto Raptors (+550)
- Chicago Bulls (+550)
- Brooklyn Nets (+650)
- Orlando Magic (+850)
Heading into the in-season tournament, the Boston Celtics are tied with the Bucks as the favorite (+950). No team has an easier road to winning their group than the Celtics do. No one else in the group is close to Boston's level. In East Group C, it's the Celtics and then everyone else.
West Group A Winner Odds
- Phoenix Suns (+125)
- Los Angeles Lakers (+220)
- Memphis Grizzlies (+330)
- Utah Jazz (+1000)
- Portland Trail Blazers (+1600)
The West offers some battles at the top of groups, and it starts with Group A. The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers are the favorites in West Group A, with the Memphis Grizzlies having a shot, as well. With LeBron James limiting his minutes throughout the season, the Lakers may opt to give LeBron a lighter workload in the group games. Phoenix has been dealing with health issues, as well, with both Devin Booker and Bradley Beal banged up.
West Group B Winner Odds
- Denver Nuggets (+195)
- Los Angeles Clippers (+220)
- Dallas Mavericks (+340)
- New Orleans Pelicans (+410)
- Houston Rockets (+1600)
Can anyone stop the Denver Nuggets from adding another trophy to their trophy case? The defending NBA Champions have plenty of competition in their group with the new-look Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, and New Orleans Pelicans all playing in Group B. The Clippers will need to click quickly with Harden to make any sort of splash in group play.
West Group C Winner Odds
- Golden State Warriors (+195)
- Sacramento Kings (+220)
- Minnesota Timberwolves (+340)
- Oklahoma City Thunder (+360)
- San Antonio Spurs (+2300)
Group C may be the most entertaining group of all. The Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Oklahoma City Thunder all have a real claim to this. Siding with the Warriors is the understandable pick as Stephen Curry has started off as hot as anyone with an average of 33.5 points through four games. Don't be surprised, however, if the Kings make a run at the group crown.
