Donovan Clingan Draft Position Over/Under

  • Over 3.5: -166
  • Under 3.5: +124

Donovan Clingan being drafted over -- or after -- pick 3.5 is the -166 favorite for this market.

The 7'2', 280-pound big man won two national championships in two years at UConn in college. Though he was a reserve in his freshman year, Clingan started 33 of 35 games during his final season. Across just 22.6 minutes per game, Clingan averaged 13.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per night.

It can't be understated how impactful Clingan was on both ends of the floor at UConn. Last season, he finished second in the country in both PER (34.8) and Box Plus/Minus (15.0).

Clingan finished his career with the second-highest PER (34.1) since 2009-10 and third-highest Box Plus/Minus (13.6) since 2010-11.

His size is an obvious draw, but Clingan has been touted as someone who could potentially expand his shooting range at the next level. Though he shot only 55.8% from the free-throw line and 2-of-9 from three at UConn, the big man impressed at the combine. He finished fourth among centers in Spot-Up shooting and tied for third in the Shooting off the Dribble.

Ahead of tonight's draft, Clingan is ranked third on ESPN's Best Available list, second on The Ringer's Big Board, and fourth on CBS Sports' Prospect Rankings.

Clingan has been linked to several teams in the top 10, though he's not expected to fall past the Portland Trail Blazers at No. 7. The San Antonio Spurs have also been rumored to have interest in Clingan with the fourth pick, and he's conducted workouts with the Houston Rockets (pick No. 3) and Atlanta Hawks (No. 1).

In the exact pick market, Clingan has the second-shortest odds in all of the following markets: No. 1 Overall Pick (+600), No. 3 Overall Pick (+260), No. 4 Overall Pick (+450), No. 5 Overall Pick (+600), and No. 7 Overall Pick (+450).

However, he is not the favorite to be drafted in any one spot. That speaks to the uncertainty with his draft position.

The latest mocks aren't quite sure, either.

The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor had Clingan going seventh to Portland in his one-week-out mock. ESPN's Jonathan Givony came to the same conclusion in his most recent mock draft. Meanwhile, Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman predicts Clingan to go sixth to the Charlotte Hornets.

Clingan has a wide range of outcomes, but he looks to be on the outside looking into the top three as of Wednesday morning.

Still, a lot can change in the hours leading up to the draft, and FanDuel Sportsbook has other ways to get in on the Donovan Clingan draft day experience.

In addition to his draft position over/under of 3.5, Clingan has -380 odds to be a Top 5 Pick.

Clingan is also featured in two markets under the NBA 2024 Draft Popular parlays tab. Donovan Clingan to be a Top 5 Pick and Zach Edey to be a Top 15 Pick has +125 odds while Donovan Clingan and Stephon Castle both to be a Top 4 Pick has +240 odds.
