MLB SGP Bets

Seattle Mariners at Boston Red Sox

Randy Arozarena to Record a Run (-200)
Cal Raleigh to Record an RBI (+100)
Masataka Yoshida to Record an RBI (+140)

Combined Odds: +552

It has been a fast start for Randy Arozarena since he joined the Seattle Mariners via a trade involving the Tampa Bay Rays. Arozarena exited Monday's game versus the Boston Red Sox after crashing into the wall, but manager Scott Servais said he expects Arozarena to be available on Tuesday.

Arozarena has gone 5-for-11 with at least one hit in all three of his games with the Mariners while he's scored at least one run in each of those contests. James Paxton is expected to make his debut for the Red Sox, and he is permitting a .336 wOBA, 1.54 WHIP, and 1.25 HR/9 to righties.

Besides Arozarena, Cal Raleigh is a bat from Seattle who can do damage against Paxton. Raleigh is registering a .328 wOBA, 117 wRC+, and .348 ISO when facing left-handed pitching this season while he has +285 odds to hit a home run on Dinger Tuesday.

On the Boston side of things, Masataka Yoshida is beginning to heat up hitting out of the No. 3 spot in the batting order. Yoshida is currently on a six-game hitting streak with at least one RBI in three consecutive contests, totaling eight RBIs during that span.

Although it's a small sample size of five career plate appearances, Yoshida has three hits -- all extra-base hits -- against Luis Castillo. With Castillo giving up a .346 wOBA, 1.46 WHIP, and 1.59 HR/9 to left-handed hitters, Yoshida should have opportunities for an RBI on Tuesday.

Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Angels

Griffin Canning Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-134)
Ezequiel Tovar to Record 2+ Total Bases (-125)
Logan O'Hoppe to Record 2+ Total Baes (+100)

Combined Odds: +503

The Colorado Rockies have the ninth-highest strikeout rate (24.4%) against right-handed pitching over the last 30 days. In that same span, the Rockies are also logging the 6th-best wOBA (.347), 11th-best wRC+ (110), and 6th-best ISO (.202) versus righties, which makes the under on Griffin Canning's strikeouts an enticing prop to consider in this SGP.

Canning ranks in the 16th percentile in xERA (4.87), 19th percentile in xBA (.269), 8th percentile in strikeout rate (16.3%), and 30th percentile in hard-hit rate (40.9%) ahead of his 22nd start for the Los Angeles Angels. Through his first 21 starts, Canning has achieved six-plus Ks just twice.

Ezequiel Tovar is among the hitters on the Rockies who could be in store for a productive outing versus Canning as he boasts a .348 wOBA, 110 wRC+, and .199 ISO against right-handed pitchers. Tovar is on a 15-game hit streak while tallying two-plus bases in 10 of those 15 contests, earning him +440 odds to hit a home run.

Cal Quantrill is projected to start for the Rockies, and he's allowing a .336 wOBA, 1.35 WHIP, and 1.23 HR/9 to right-handed hitters. Taking that into account, Logan O'Hoppe is poised to have a notable outing for the Angels.

O'Hoppe is sporting a .360 wOBA, 132 wRC+, and .179 ISO versus right-handed pitching this year while having the shortest odds to hit a home run (+420) in Tuesday's Rockies-Angels showdown.

Washington Nationals at Arizona Diamondbacks

Lourdes Gurriel to Record 2+ Total Bases (-135)
Ketel Marte to Record an RBI (+105)
Arizona Diamondbacks Over 4.5 Total Runs (-148)

Combined Odds: +332

Anytime Patrick Corbin is on the bump for the Washington Nationals, we'll want to target him. Corbin is in the 2nd percentile in xERA (5.85), 1st percentile in xBA (.309), 12th percentile in strikeout rate (16.9%), and 4th percentile in hard-hit rate (47.0%).

Those metrics could get Corbin in trouble against players like Lourdes Gurriel and Ketel Marte. Gurriel is recording a .371 wOBA, 141 wRC+, and .176 ISO versus southpaws this season while totaling two-plus bases in three of his last four appearances.

As for Marte, the switch-hitting infielder is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now, notching at least one RBI in six of his last seven games -- totaling 14 RBIs in that span. Marte is crushing lefties to the tune of a .462 wOBA, 203 wRC+, and .342 ISO in 2024.

Given Corbin's woes on the mound, it's worth noting that Marte has +420 odds to hit a home run while Gurriel has +500 odds in the same market.

To correlate with Marte and Gurriel having success at the plate, we'll back the Diamondbacks to score five-plus runs for the sixth time in their last seven games. Corbin has given up three-plus earned runs in five of his last six outings while Washington's bullpen also has the 11th-worst xFIP (4.12), 8th-worst WHIP (1.43), and 12th-worst HR/9 (1.3) in the last 30 days.
