Today's Best MLB SGP Bets

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles

Nick Pivetta to Record 5+ Strikeouts (-215)
Colton Cowser to Record a Run (-135)
Rafael Devers to Record 2+ Total Bases (-115)

Combined Odds: +435

Nick Pivetta is slated to start for the Boston Red Sox on Thursday, and he has reverse splits when taking the mound. This could come in handy versus a Baltimore Orioles team that could be trotting out seven lefties.

Pivetta is registering a 3.34 xFIP, 1.38 HR/9, and 31.1% strikeout rate to left-handed hitters compared to a 3.40 xFIP, 2.17 HR/9, and 28.9% strikeout rate to right-handed hitters. The right-handed hurler for the Red Sox ranks in the 91st percentile in strikeout rate (29.9%) while he's achieved five-plus Ks in six straight outings.

Despite Pivetta's reverse splits, we'll back Colton Cowser to record a run for the Orioles. Cowser has been consistently batting leadoff versus right-handed pitchers, and he's tallied at least one run in five of his last seven contests.

Not to mention, Cowser is logging a .226 ISO or better and .349 wOBA or better against Pivetta's two primary pitches (four-seam fastball and curveball) versus left-handed hitters.

Zach Eflin is also producing reverse splits this season ahead of his fourth start for the Orioles. However, he's permitting a 43.6% fly-ball rate to lefties, compared to a 33.5% fly-ball rate to righties, so there is still reason to believe Rafael Devers can excel in this matchup.

Devers has crushed righties to the tune of a .436 wOBA, 181 wRC+, and .348 ISO in 2024. He's also in fantastic form with two-plus bases in 13 of his last 19 contests.

Washington Nationals at Philadelphia Phillies

Mitchell Parker Under 4.5 Strikeouts (+100)
Alec Bohm to Record 2+ Total Bases (-125)
JT Realmuto Record an RBI (+110)

Combined Odds: +490

It has been an up-and-down season for Mitchell Parker in his first year with the Washington Nationals. Through 21 starts in 2024, Parker resides in the 30th percentile in xERA (4.50), 25th percentile in xBA (.262), and 28th percentile in strikeout rate (19.7%).

Even though Parker has racked up five-plus Ks in six of his last nine starts, the Philadelphia Phillies are not a team to target for strikeouts versus southpaws. Over the last 30 days, Philadelphia boasts the best wOBA (.381), best wRC+ (146), fifth-best ISO (.215), and seventh-lowest strikeout rate (20.7%) against left-handed pitching.

Additionally, Parker has a 23.5% strikeout rate to lefties compared to just a 18.5% strikeout rate to righties. Aside from Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, the rest of Philly's lineup is expected to be right-handed.

With Parker posting a 4.52 xFIP and 1.37 HR/9 to right-handed bats, Alec Bohm and J.T. Realmuto are two bats to target in this SGP. Bohm is sporting a .345 wOBA, 122 wRC+, .199 ISO, and just a 8.9% strikeout rate to lefty pitchers this season while he's gotten two-plus bases in six of his last eight games.

Realmuto gets to hit in the middle of the lineup for the Phillies, which has helped him record at least one RBI in four of his last eight contests. Parker throws his four-seam fastball often to righties (50% of the time), and Realmuto has a .241 ISO and .357 wOBA to that pitch versus lefties.

Minnesota Twins at Texas Rangers

Bailey Ober to Record 5+ Strikeouts (-215)
Royce Lewis to Record an RBI (+125)
Carlos Santana to Record a Run (-120)

Combined Odds: +478

Bailey Ober has been utterly dominant in the strikeout department in his last nine starts for the Minnesota Twins. During that nine-game stretch, Ober has notched six-plus Ks in eight contests, which has helped him climb to the 92nd percentile in chase rate (33.4%), 78th percentile in whiff rate (29.0%), and 81st percentile in strikeout rate (27.3%).

Along with Ober being in the 75th percentile in xERA (3.35) and 80th percentile in xBA (.218), the Texas Rangers have the ninth-worst wOBA (.291) and seventh-worst wRC+ (86) versus right-handed pitching in the last month. While the Rangers have the ninth-lowest strikeout rate (20.2%) in that split over the last 30 days, their uninspiring metrics across the board should help Ober pitch deep enough to tally five-plus Ks.

On the flip side, Cody Bradford is set to get the nod for the Rangers. Bradford is making just his sixth start of the campaign, and he's given up a combined nine earned runs across his last three appearances.

With Bradford allowing a 50% fly-ball rate and 1.74 HR/9 to right-handed hitters this year, Royce Lewis and Carlos Santana could do damage in this split. Against left-handed pitching, Lewis owns a .413 wOBA, 172 wRC+, and .304 ISO with just an 18.2% strikeout rate while he's tallied at least one RBI in 8 of his last 13 contests.

As for Santana, the switch-hitting infielder is logging a .392 wOBA, 158 wRC+, .275 ISO, and only a 17.9% strikeout rate when facing southpaws. Santana has also been getting on base often recently, leading to him scoring at least one run in six of his last eight games.
