MLB Same Game Parlay Bets for Tuesday 6/18/24
Baltimore Orioles at New York Yankees
Adley Rutschman to Record an RBI (+190)
Baltimore Orioles Total Runs: Over 3.5 (-150)
Combined Odds: +247
There aren't many batters who are performing better against left-handed pitching than Adley Rutschman of the Baltimore Orioles. In 93 plate appearances versus southpaws this season, Rutschman is recording the 3rd-best wOBA (.492), 3rd-best wRC+ (228), and 12th-best ISO (.273) in baseball.
Rutschman is in solid form entering Tuesday's AL bout with the New York Yankees, tallying an RBI in five of his last seven contests -- and totaling 10 RBIs in that span. Across 15 career plate appearances against Nestor Cortes, Rutschman has logged eight hits and only three strikeouts.
Additionally, Rutschman has a .436 wOBA or better versus Cortes' two primary pitches (four-seam fastball and cutter) versus right-handed bats, and he carries +520 odds to hit a home run on Dinger Tuesday.
Along with taking Rutschman to have success at the plate, we'll back the Orioles to score four-plus runs on the road. Baltimore has the second-most runs per game (5.28) in road contests this year while Cortes has given up multiple earned runs in 11 of his 15 starts in 2024.
Cortes is also in just the 16th percentile in average exit velocity (90.3 MPH) and 17th percentile in hard-hit rate (43.7%).
San Francisco Giants at Chicago Cubs
Logan Webb to Record 5+ Strikeouts (-220)
Heliot Ramos to Record 2+ Total Bases (-110)
Alternate Total Runs: Under 12.5 (-330)
Combined Odds: +271
Logan Webb hasn't had an elite start to the season, producing a 6-5 record through 15 starts for the San Francisco Giants. At the same time, Webb is still sporting a formidable 3.33 SIERA, 3.07 xFIP, and 0.39 HR/9.
Despite allowing multiple earned runs in six of his last eight starts -- and having a career-worst 7.6% swinging strike rate -- Webb pitches deep into games to achieve his strikeout totals. Webb has reached five-plus Ks in each of his last eight outings, pitching in six-plus innings in seven of those games.
The Chicago Cubs are also a team we can target for strikeouts when a right-handed pitcher is on the mound. Chicago is posting the seventh-highest strikeout rate (24.0%) versus righties up to this point.
With Justin Steele on the bump for the Cubs, Heliot Ramos is in play to total two-plus bases. Ramos is raking against lefties to the tune of a .625 wOBA, .594 ISO, and 318 wRC+ in 44 plate appearances in that split this season.
Over his last 11 contests, Ramos has tallied two-plus bases in seven of them -- with multiple hits in each of his last four games. Being that Ramos has three homers in his last four outings and hits Steele's two primary pitches (four-seam fastball and slider) well, it's worth noting Ramos has +350 odds to hit a home.
Even with the weather being ideal for hitting at Wrigley Field recently, we'll take the alternate under of 12.5 runs. The Cubs have played four straight games at home -- all of which had warmer weather -- and they've had six or fewer total runs scored in three of those contests.
Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies
Teoscar Hernandez to Record an RBI (-135)
Charlie Blackmon to Record 2+ Total Bases (-120)
Combined Odds: +225
Austin Gomber is slated to make his 14th start of the campaign for the Colorado Rockies, and he has struggled versus both sides of the plate. The veteran left-handed hurler is permitting a .334 wOBA and 2.51 HR/9 to lefties, along with a .329 wOBA and 1.30 HR/9 to righties.
Considering that Teoscar Hernandez will likely be hitting cleanup for the Los Angeles Dodgers at Coors Field versus a southpaw, we'll take him to record an RBI. Hernandez is rocking a .391 wOBA, .360 ISO, and 158 wRC+ when facing a left-handed pitcher this season.
Among members of the Dodgers not named Shohei Ohtani, Hernandez has the most homers (17) entering Tuesday's matchup. Hernandez is being given +260 odds to hit a home run.
Walker Buehler is still trying to find his footing ahead of his eighth start of the season. The experienced right-hander for the Dodgers is allowing lefties to record a .434 wOBA, .606 SLG, and .400 OBP through seven starts.
With those numbers in mind, Charlie Blackmon is an intriguing player to target at the top of Colorado's lineup. Blackmon is in a solid groove right now, registering two-plus bases in seven of his last 11 games -- accruing five multi-hit performances and seven extra-base hits in that span.
Just note that there are potential weather concerns ahead of Tuesday's Dodgers-Rockies game at Coors Field.
