MLB Prop Bets: MLB Props for Today
Brady House to Record 2+ Hits/Runs/RBI (+110)
Marlins vs. Nationals, 7:11 p.m. ET
Miami Marlins RHP Ryan Gusto is showing reverse splits this season, and that has me interested in Brady House.
Against right-handed hitters, Gusto has permitted 1.99 homers per nine and a 45.8% fly-ball rate. He’s also just struggling overall, pitching to a 5.03 ERA over his last four starts.
House put up some good numbers in the minors. It hasn’t yet happened for him in The Show, but he’s doing better this year than his .306 wOBA indicates as he’s got a .334 expected wOBA.
Likely to be slotted somewhere in the heart of the Washington Nationals‘ lineup, House should be in a good spot for RBI and run-scoring chances, and I like these plus-money odds on him to notch at least two H/R/RBI.
Manny Machado to Record an RBI (+140)
Twins vs. Padres, 9:40 p.m. ET
A date with southpaw Connor Prielipp puts Manny Machado in a welcoming matchup.
Prielipp put together some excellent numbers in the minors, and he’s mostly doing OK so far through his first 87.2 MLB frames. But he’s not missing many bats (9.9% swinging-strike) and has given up 1.26 jacks per nine to righty bats. He’s also in a bad funk right now, struggling to an 8.22 ERA over his last three outings while allowing four bombs in that span.
Machado has a long track record of success against left-handers. Although he’s clearly having a rough 2026 season, Machado still has quality batted-ball numbers versus lefties, including a 41.1% hard-hit rate and 42.2% fly-ball rate.
Hitting third, two spots behind a red-hot Fernando Tatis Jr., Machado to drive in a run is my favorite player prop today.
Eduardo Rodriguez Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-148)
Reds at Diamondbacks, 9:40 p.m. ET
Eduardo Rodriguez - Strikeouts
Eduardo Rodriguez has pitched well from a run-prevention standpoint this season (2.71 ERA), but he’s been very lucky as he owns a 4.71 expected ERA.
For the season, he’s got a lowly 17.3% K rate and 8.8% swinging-strike rate. That strikeout rate is a career-worst clip.
Rodriguez erupted for nine strikeouts against the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 9, but that was more exception than rule. Over his last seven starts, he finished with five or fewer strikeouts in six of them, including outings with three, four, two, four, and five punchouts.
The worrying thing for the under is that the Cincinnati Reds have the highest K rate in baseball over the past 30 days (28.6%). But even still, I think the Reds can make enough contact — and potentially do enough damage — for this under to hit.
MLB Prop Bets -- Frequently Asked Questions
What are MLB player prop bets?
MLB player prop bets are wagers on specific statistical outcomes tied to individual players during a game — not on which team wins or loses. You might bet on how many strikeouts a starting pitcher records, whether a shortstop gets a hit, or how many total bases an outfielder accumulates.
Because they are isolated to a single player's performance, props let you apply focused knowledge about matchups, recent form, and ballpark conditions rather than predicting the full game result.
What types of MLB player props are available?
FanDuel offers a wide menu of MLB props. The most common categories include:
- Pitcher strikeouts
- Batter hits
- Home runs
- Total bases
- RBIs
- Stolen bases
- Pitcher outs recorded
How do MLB player prop bet odds work?
MLB prop odds use the standard American (moneyline) format. A negative number shows how much you must wager to profit $100. A positive number shows how much a $100 bet returns in profit.
- -110 odds — bet $110 to win $100
- +130 odds — bet $100 to win $130
- -200 odds — bet $200 to win $100
What does "total bases" mean as a prop bet?
The total bases prop counts the bases a batter earns from hits in a single game:
- Single = 1 base
- Double = 2 bases
- Triple = 3 bases
- Home run = 4 bases
Walks, hit-by-pitches, and stolen bases do not count. A typical total bases line is set at 1.5 or 2.5. Betting over 1.5 means you need at least a double, or two singles.
