MLB Player Props

Riley Greene to Record an RBI (+140)

The Detroit Tigers aren't the first team that comes to mind when you think about exceptional batting orders. They've totaled the 16th-most runs scored paired with the 6th-lowest wOBA.

However, the script flipped during the Tigers' 10-3 stretch over the last 13 games. Detroit is averaging 5.80 runs per game over their last 10 compared to a season-average of 4.29 runs per contest (16th-most).

One of the Cleveland Guardians' bottom-tier starting pitchers will be on the rubber tonight, giving the Tigers the platform to rake once again. Carlos Carrasco underwhelms in most advanced stats, such as his 4.33 SIERA and 4.21 xFIP.

Backing the Tigers' leading RBI man -- Riley Greene -- is gearing up to be a sharp bet. His numbers spike against right-handed pitchers with his .291 batting average and .394 OBP versus a .215 average and .270 against lefties.

Greene has recorded most of his RBIs (33 of 51) when facing righties, which is also thanks to his slugging jumping to .519 when facing right-handed pitchers. Detroit's left fielder is also hitting clean up for a red-hot order.

According to Savant, Carrasco's most-used pitch is a four-seam fastball (24.3%). This is yet another check for Greene recording an RBI as he hits .287 against the pitch compared to a season average of .271.

David Peterson Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (+104)

After carrying a 4.32 ERA over his first three starts of the season, David Peterson has a 2.33 ERA over his previous five outings -- taking his season-long ERA to 3.09. Peterson's advanced stats still underwhelm with his 4.62 SIERA and 4.53 xFIP.

However, the New York Mets get to face the second-worst batting order in baseball on Monday. The Miami Marlins have the second-fewest runs scored and second-lowest wOBA on the season. This gets even worse against left-handed pitchers (MLB's lowest wOBA).

Peterson's three most-used pitches are his sinker (31.8%), four-seam fastball (23.6%), and slider (20.7%). Miami is among the bottom four teams in runs above average against each pitch.

While some of Peterson's numbers are admittedly not the best, he has completed six innings of work in two of his three starts this month. Going over 17.5 outs recorded looks like the way to go, especially with the +104 odds.

Ketel Marte to Record 2+ Total Bases (-110)

The Arizona Diamondbacks possess one of the best batting orders against left-handed pitchers, making them a real threat against the Kansas City Royals' ace Cole Ragans.

No one could play a bigger factor than Ketel Marte. The two-time All-Star second baseman is batting a blistering .345 against southpaws complimented by his .669 SLG.

Marte reaching at least two bases against lefties is a pretty safe bet when you look at his recent numbers. He failed to reach a base with three strikeouts in the D-backs' most recent meeting with a left-handed hurler on Sunday.

Don't be too discouraged, though, as Marte totaled two and six bases on July 19th and July 14th when facing lefties.

One of Ragans' few weaknesses is sitting in the bottom 49% of average exit velocity while ranking in the 53rd percentile of hard-hit percentage. As previously mentioned, Marte's power is prime to take advantage of mistakes.

All it takes is one extra-base hit, and Marte will have this prop in the bag.
