Manchester United vs. Spurs Prediction, Picks and Projected Lineups for Today

Spurs vs Man United Picks in Summary

  • Manchester United Moneyline (-145)
  • Bryan Mbeumo Anytime Goalscorer (+175)

Two of the Premier League's biggest clubs will look to turn their seasons around when Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 10.

Neither side has enjoyed much success to begin the 2026-27 campaign. Manchester United have collected just five points through five league matches while Tottenham sit at the bottom of the table with only two points.

Despite their disappointing results, United's underlying numbers have been considerably more encouraging than Tottenham's, potentially giving the Red Devils an advantage in this matchup.

Man United vs. Tottenham Picks, Prediction

Manchester United Moneyline (-145)

Manchester United haven't gotten the results they've wanted through five Premier League matches, but their underlying statistics suggest they've performed considerably better than their record indicates.

United have generated an average of 2.02 expected goals (xG) per match while allowing just 1.28 expected goals against (xGA). That gives them a positive xG differential of 0.74 per contest.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have struggled at both ends of the pitch.

Spurs have generated just 0.86 xG per match while surrendering 1.66 xGA. They've scored only two goals through five league fixtures, highlighting their inability to consistently create quality scoring opportunities.

Those numbers paint a favorable picture for United, particularly with Saturday's contest taking place at Old Trafford.

United certainly have their own issues to address, but their superior attacking production and underlying defensive numbers make them my preferred side in this matchup.

Bryan Mbeumo Anytime Goalscorer (+175)

Bryan Mbeumo is a player worth targeting in Saturday's matchup, especially given Tottenham's defensive struggles.

Mbeumo has developed a strong track record against Spurs, recording seven goal involvements across his last six Premier League appearances against Tottenham.

That history is particularly encouraging considering the current state of Tottenham's defense. Spurs are allowing 1.66 xGA per league match, and their defensive injury concerns could make matters worse. Pedro Porro is sidelined while Micky van de Ven and Jan Paul van Hecke are dealing with fitness concerns.

Manchester United's attack has been far more productive than Tottenham's this season, generating 2.02 xG per match. That should give Mbeumo opportunities to get involved in dangerous attacking situations, particularly if United can establish control of possession.

With Mbeumo available at +175 to score, he's an appealing player prop to consider.

Man United vs Tottenham Projected Lineups

Spurs Possible Starting XI: Antonín Kinský, Archie Gray, Jan Paul van Hecke, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie, Rodrigo Bentancur, Sandro Tonali, Savinho, Mohammed Kudus, Omar Marmoush, Dominic Solanke

Manchester United Possible Starting XI: Senne Lammens, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Youri Tielemans, Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Matheus Cunha

Soccer Betting FAQ

What is a moneyline bet in soccer?

A moneyline bet is a wager on which team will win the match. Because soccer matches can end in a draw, most moneyline markets include three options: the home team, the away team, or a draw.

What does “draw no bet” mean?

Draw no bet removes the draw as a losing outcome. If the match ends tied, your wager is refunded. If your team wins, the bet wins.

What is a soccer total?

A total is a bet on how many combined goals will be scored in a match. For example, an Over 2.5 Goals bet wins if at least three goals are scored.

What does “both teams to score” mean?

Both Teams to Score, often abbreviated BTTS, is a wager on whether each team will score at least one goal during the match.
